Neat little game, I like the sound and the general idea. It would've been cool if it was procedurally generated and you could keep digging forever, maybe finding tougher enemies as you went deeper. I'm partial to jam games with people digging if my game didn't make that obvious. Good work!

This is *REALLY* polished and professional-looking! Once I figured out that the whole point of each level was to slaughter all of the monsters I had fun turning this pleasant little game into a bloodbath.

Your son sure has talent! Good job to him coming up with this idea.

Oh, and my final score for my best game was somewhere around 58200. Probably could have gotten more, but I learned the hard way that enemies have an invisible square collision field and being anywhere near them is game over.

@ryannielson thank you :) Yeah its a good idea in the future (i had thought about it but due to lack of time i skipped it).

@m01 thank you :)

@peace-of-cake-games thank you very much - 58200 is really good:D Sqaure Collision field ? hmm i didnt noticed that. Maybe the treasure time was up and the monster spawn directly ? :) Anyway a really good score and thank you for your feedback.

I love arcade games! It feels really arcade-y with the sound effects and simple pixel art. Did you make the art yourself?

Nailed the feel of the old-school 8bit style! Sounds are sparse but perfect, the graphics are exactly what you'd expect for the genre. Definitely hits the theme, because... well, deeper and deeper, it's right there in the action! The controls felt a little unresponsive at times, but it could have been because I was playing in-browser. Overall nice work!

I love the homage to Dig Dug, one of my favorite classic arcade games. I think the visuals and sound design do it justice.

Neat game! I like the graphics and the sound design. It is cool while kept simple, great work!

You could put a strategy element where the player can't move up so he needs to plan ahead before moving

Wow, that pickaxe cuts through the dirt like butter, and you can also shoot it very fast. This makes the gameplay fast-paced and fun, however I would consider adding some more challenge, like enemies turning or more treasure chests spawning, considering how powerful the character is.

The game seemed to get a bit buggy as I reached level 3. I killed all enemies I could find, but I couldn't advance to the next level. Even after I dug up every dirt block, nothing happened. Treasure chests also didn't always spawn enemies after a few seconds (I think this problem was only in level 3 as well, though I don't fully remember).

Still, this is a fun game with quite a bit of potential for expanding it.

I liked a lot the retro vibe it has. The idea is pretty good, simple but coherent graphics and nice tune and sound effects. I felt that the collisionBox of the pickaxe was to big and sometimes you hit the wall and get killed if the monster is near. Overall great work!

Really good entry. The game is solid, with cool and simple mechanics (and I dig that, thanks god there's still people making simplistic but good games around here). The graphics are beautiful and retro-like, and so is the music and sfxs. I played and replayed it many times. Very enjoyable, good job!

Really neat game, loved it. As I already said on multiple games, that's the way to go: a simple and clean idea executed perfectly. I'm not sure if I'd change anything except making more levels.
Audio and graphics are :ok_hand: for the style you're going for. Everything feels like a juicy fruit of nostalgia. Well done.

It's clean and simple, good job! I discovered one bug if you're taking it further beyond the jam: if you dig a lot of squares in a short period (such as going diagonally) and fire your weapon at the same time, the sound fades out and doesn't come back for 5-10 seconds. It might be that there's a single audio source playing sounds and hitting a max limit, or it could just be the webgl version.

hey man, nice game! nice graphics and music, mechanic and movements very polish and smooth! Few tips for future:
- maybe change sound effects
- less enemies on firsts stages
- different enemies
- differente things to do! (maybe buy things with the treasure)

I went to stage 3, so if you have any of those things that I said before stage 4 forgive me! nice game =)

Really enjoyed the game play. The art style was simple, and I don't know why I kept dying so soon. Got up to stage 4 lol.

Cute game. Movement was smooth, but I found the hitbox for the ranged attack to be a little annoying. Well done game!

I spent the first three levels clearing out every block and then taking out the last enemy. I don't know if I'm just insane, but it seemed like I was losing points between stages. Like, leaving level 3 I had over 75,000 points, but entering level 4 I had 20,000.

Anyway, the art was great looking ,and I liked the background music, though the music could've been a bit longer of a loop. Great work all around!

Great game, the arcade graphics are superb as is the music. The game is very easy to use, just like the original arcade game.
