Sound as the control is a really cool idea. The art also has a really nice aesthetic. I was able to fly at the top and that seemed to be a safe spot from the obstacles. Overall it was fun to play and the zig zagging planes were pretty funny.

I couldn't get this to work. I tried using my high pitch and low pitch voice. It seemed like mostly the bird goes up when I talked, and down when I didn't. Your art style is super cool, high contrast flying above trees and cows had a great vibe to it. If there was one thing that was toughest though it was the strange hitboxes. The fun part in flappy bird was that even though it was hard, it felt genuinely fair and tight controls. So when I died in flappy bird it felt like it was my fault, which is fun, in this game, it felt like it was the game's fault. Still, thank you for the game.

Creative idea! I had a bit of trouble figuring out how the pitches worked in terms of nuanced control, but as long as I kept a deep voice it worked well enough. I can see this being an issue for people who do not have deep voices - but the game fits very nicely with the theme and calibration is a feature that could be added in an expanded game. I also like the aesthetic and animations - solid game overall.

The concept of sound for movement is great, i didn´t get tooo far, but thats because i´m bad not the game. I also realy loved your art, i cant say what it is about it but it just feels great, even tho if u look closely its 'not that good' seeing it moveing while playing the game it felt amazing!

@xariusexcl : that was on my todo list. as wel as crashing and victory animations. But someTIMEs things get prioritized. In hinesight I could have done with one bird making those animations. But I wanted to make it multiplayer. That got scratched as well. Thanks for the feedback.

26. Apr 2021 · 19:00 UTC
This is a pretty cool idea. However it's a shame to have the main controls be the mic, as a lot of microphones are low quality and have a lot of feedback. This makes it hard to control the bird on voice alone like the game requires. I can't fly low enough because the feedback is always keeping the bird high. This could probably be solved with sensitivity controls. But still a cool idea nonetheless. Never seen a game use microphone as controls before which is cool. The art also was super clean and cool. All in all, a cool game and a cool idea.

@rhoff95 : I have thought about it but decided against it. It was the theme-idea that I wanted to uphold. I had thought of replacing that low-pitch input that I was looking for with some sound-effect but I couldn't manage to get both input and output. The code was too new for me to understand how to mix it. Maybe in a future release .. thanks for the feedback!!!!

it seems like just talking keeps the bird flying, but it doesn't seem very in sync with deepness of my voice. I tried whistling and that kept it up, but then it dropped off. Is it meant to fluctuate in real time? I like the idea
🎤 mdotedot
26. Apr 2021 · 20:47 UTC
@samguy : I have a gradual degration of movement. When I don't allow for that to happen than the bird would crash into the ground immediately when the same frequency is used or nothing is said. Thanks for playing and commenting.

Funny interpretation of the theme! Doing this Oooom sound for so long, I feel like I have reached a new state of meditation ahah.

The graphics are interesting and I like the animation of the birds (not sure about that winged lion though...). I wish it was not limited to keeping the lowest voice possible all the time though. I thought I'd have to control my pitch to move up and down and avoid obstacles, which would have been less repetitive.

Anyway, nice game!

Very original concept, my natural soprano voice was obviously a handicap to play this game xd.

Jokes aside, the game is very novel but I think it needs a taller playfield because as of now it doesn't feel like "use your voice pitch to change height" game and more like a "can you mantain a low pitched note for 60 seconds?" game. Anyways, cheers for trying a not so approachable mechanic!

My God, let me breathe before giving feedback haha. Well, first of all, I think your game is very different from everything I tested here in this jam game haha I have to confess that I think it's very creative, and extremely simple to play (although sometimes I was out of breath because I used it a lot microphone haha). Although I think your interpretation of the topic is somewhat shallow, however different it may be. If I may suggest, perhaps you could use this creative gameplay of using the voice as the main mechanic with another aspect that is more insisive to the main theme. To be more clear, I am referring to the use of birds (perhaps you could use some other type of creature in another context to reinforce the idea of "deep"). However, it may be that I have not fully understood your interpretation of the topic, and if that is the case I apologize haha. But don't see this as a negative criticism, I think it's incredible your daring to try something using your voice (and what you did was good). Congratulations on the excellent and creative game!

Being a musician, I had that kind of idea in the first place, but we decided to go with something else. Voice controls are very intriguing. Used pro mic to mumble through. However, despite this could turn out as a party karaoke, most girls have less chances, due to timbre. It's quite easy, when you get the right tone and hold it, but a fun experience, indeed!

I found your game to be a wonderful subtlety in the art part, working with audio capture is always complicated it is the same physics we imagine and train, and in the end there are always unexpected results, once I did a word recognition study in a platform game and I ended up giving up because the response time always generates delay, I believe that the audio part should still be better worked on the engines, congratulations on the project, a big hug, and I await your feedback on my game I will be grateful.

Игра заставляет почувствовать себя древним шаманом, который проводит ритуал и делает вот так: "Ом-м-м-м-м".

Спасибо за игру! ^_^
