Galactic Card Quest by Buckmonster

[raw]
made by Buckmonster for Ludum Dare 49 (JAM)

We got ambitious and decided to do a tribute to one of our favorite games Slay the Spire.

Unstable worm holes, unstable planets, unstable technology, unstable enemies, unstable minerals. Strategically work your way around all of the unstability in the galaxy. It will help once we get all of those in.

For now, check out playing against a variety of mobs, with a single deck in a variety of environments

Coming soon: * Relics * Outposts to purchase items * Treasure rooms/chests

Hell, what a shame you didn't do a web release for itchio or a win-build. It would be very interesting to play.

I thought for sure that this would have gotten a lot more ratings by now.
I really enjoyed it, and got to level 14 and dying there three times.
The game really shows off the power of Core.
Fantastic work in terms of technical aspects and fun, but I feel that it is a bit lacking in terms of unstable theme.
The random chance for ability to be level 2 and randomized consumables are nice, but I feel that it is missing that oomph and unstable feel.

pretty interesting game... didn't really offer a challenge as I had a lot more hp than enemies and could just blast them off easily... would've liked a bit more of a challenge but the graphics and mechanics are really well done.

Impressive result using Core! Definitely interesting to play, it makes me see how far we can go, as we only scratched the surface and stuck to the more "meta" layer of the tool rather than diving in a specific game. Really cool to see and play, congrats!

@morhailen - maybe in the future. Right now the games are access through Coregames.com. I've done 2 of these now, and pushing further and further how far we can get with Core in 3 days.

@bruno-molteni - Thanks for the comment. So we wanted to do a dynamic map so we could navigate and progress the experience and ran out of time. Would do things differently next time to make sure that was part of it.
