Game play wise, I ran into a few difficulties:
- The camera follows the mouse too much and it gets hard to see the game if you get frantic aiming around
- Some of the rooms are very small for ranged combat, leaving no room to run away and charge your spell enough to actually fire
- It's hard to tell whats activated in the equip runes menu, or how things connect to each other. For instance I thought I was supposed to just click on a rune to activate it, then I found I was supposed to drag them around to change the configuration?
Just a shame that you die from the burning ground not even from the enemies.
But I really like the vibes of the game you could release a longer version I guess :-)
As a minor level design suggestion, I would try to tweak spawn points on each level to prevent enemies attack player straight after he came in to the room.
The spell building mechanic is really neat, but it's not clear how to be successful with it. I had trouble even building a spell since I kept hurting myself while moving runes around. A better preview system would have helped a lot here.
Player speed feels a bit slow, maybe it's just the walk animation being misleading though? Enemy pathfinding seems to get stuck a lot.
The environments look great and kept me wanting to dive more.
Overall really impressive output on this!
Found the glyphs a cool idea, tho a confusing to use.
Could get some nice music (or the same music as the town music) in the villany territories
