Disclaimer: I made this game in about five hours. It's not good.

Play as Forse - an unholy union of fist and horse - on a quest to free his equine brethren from their stables.

Get it? Unstable? Never mind.

Controls

  • Mash buttons to produce freedom!
  • Once your freedom meter is full, press spacebar at the right time to punch a stable.
  • Try to free as many friends as possible without missing three stables! There's no story or endgame.

Everything made by me, in about five total hours over the weekend. Unfortunately, Ludum Dare fell on a really busy weekend for me, but I didn't let that stop me from making this... thing... to share with the world, and keep my Compo streak going!

I kind of like this very much. Silly quick fun. I like the little horse noises. Sounds like dogs? Still cute. I can appreciate this for having only 5 hours for the jam. Nice work!

Seriously, I would have loved to see a full LD game based around this, you were really able to pack in some neat details in your time constraint.

This is FANTASTIC! It took me a few attempts to get the timing right but once I did I became.... a FORSE to be reckoned with :laughing: The music is great. The animation and art style suits the game idea perfectly. I love that the little babby horses sound like puppies barking for some reason. Just a great fun game (although my top score was 229... which I probably pretty bad)

Aawww! Little horsies sooo cute :heart:

Graphical style was perfect for this kind of game, music was simple but fitting. I felt powerful when I got the hang of the game.
This was short but very enjoyable fun for a 5 hour product!

Also, I didn't find a key to restart game 😐

@paul-merkamp I probably would have gone in a different direction if I had the full 48 hours (and leaned less heavily on the "so bad it's good" feeling). Glad you enjoyed it anyway!

@diego-escalante @human-writes-code The sound was actually me saying "neigh" and pitch shifting it up a lot... but it definitely doesn't sound anything like a horse haha.

@tomssuli You reset with the 'R' key! I just didn't write it anywhere...

536! :horse: I think the squeaky horses were great considering how small they were compared to FORSE, who is indeed a _force_ to be reckoned with. I haven't come across a "mash to fill the bar" game yet either, so that was something a bit different for me.

Well made for that short time! Do not be harsh, this is good for a LD submission. And I would say very good. One of the more fun games I have tested this year. Fun game mechanics and animations!

This is great :D the graphics and audio are impressive, and it's really satisfying seeing the little horses fly out of the stables. They're so cute! Running side by side with the horses you've freed feels right. More variety would of course add a lot to this game, but LD + busy weekend = not as many features! Gotta respect the compo streak, you have one more than me :smile: Good job on an entry full of personality!

I honestly thought it was not too bad. I liked the art and music, and the horses flying around and running with you was a nice touch. The hitbox for the stables seemed abit off to me initially, although I adjusted after playing for awhile.

Love the twist on the theme, the concept could go a lot further with more mechanics (Though perhaps I haven't seen all this game has to offer due it repeatedly closing on me after a minute)

For 5 hours, this is a surprisingly fun lil game. Nicely done! Simple premise, simple execution. I tried to just spam space to get power and that didn't work, so good job on that lol.

The animation on Forse is great, the music is thematically derpy. A little content light but I'm not gonna knock a jam game for being content light. I honestly can't find any more problems with this. You set out to do a thing and did it and now there's this game in the world. And the world is better for it. :)

Fun and simple, really like the character design and gameplay would be nice if we get some power-ups after freeing some friends.
