I like the way you have to balance the benefits of keeping the temperature high against the risks of overheating.
A lot of these types of top-down arena shooters devolve into just running in circles around the enemies chasing you, but the falling obstacles and the risk/reward element of the temperature mechanic help keep it interesting.
It seems that if you keep moving, you can generally avoid taking damage, so once I'd gotten the hang of that, the game started to feel a bit too easy.
@squimmy I can see that yeah, I was hoping that as the spawnrate increased it would be harder to run around because of all the platforms + your heat still gradually increases but the values probably need some tweaking. Thanks for good feedback :)
If I were to change anything, I would change the floor and maybe add a pattern because it's a little disorienting how it is now. Something about the transparent floor with the stars in the distance just felt weird when I was moving around the arena. Maybe its just me
I don't know if it was intended but I was able to play after death (and the timer kept on going) and shooting hoards of enemies with insane fire-rate -- lots of fun!
It also a lot of room to grow: add more enemy-types, a boss fight maybe? If you wish to expand it of course. Maybe reduce health of basic enemies so it's more fun and less stressful? I dunno, just throwing some ideas
I actually was streaming and recording my playthrough of your game... but running it consumed all my system resources so I've got recording with like 1 frame per 5 seconds  I've tried to include all my impressions and ideas in the feedback above
The falling ceiling was a little subtle at first, but now I get the theme as well.
Nice music too, very fitting!
That's a lot of great feedback thank you! @caudatecoder
That was unintended hahah, but very fun to play around with. Glad it created some more enjoyment hehe.
That is very true, kind of making me want to develop this further and maybe make a final release :D
Woops I'm sorry for that, should not have used the high definition render pipeline in unity. >_< You said a lot of great feedback now though, you're 100% fine!
I would increase the max temperature before losing, as fast shooting is satisfying and it can increase the pace of the game
In the end, I guess heaters gonna heat !
Cool game !
