Maybe it's just because I've been stressing about taxes, but I didn't expect this to be as fun as it was. I've played a few run-around-and-shoot-until-you're-overwhelmed games, but this was one of my favorites -- funny, good controls, and the spells felt awesome.
Loved the little details like the ticking-up tax bill in the upper right, and how the spells mostly went where you want but sometimes did little turns away or homed in on an enemy.
My only complaint would be that the upgrades didn't feel like much -- I bought a few and didn't really notice a difference. I think they should either be bigger in magnitude, or permanent so they could stack and feel more noticeable over time.
Very fun game idea, executed well with quirky and smooth gameplay. I like the graphics style, coherent and simple, very effective for this type of game. Oh and I LOVE how you did the temporary exemption effect!
Gameplay seems fun enough to spend some time playing this game. I feel like if I had enough free time I could spend alot of it with this game. Graphics are looking good, maybe a little bit too basic and lacking in post processing, but this also makes it have quite interesting look. Magic "bullets" kinda lose their target sometimes and are not able to refocus on other one, thus making them stay in one place and doing some weird circles. Other than that, game is fun to play and has pretty much no major issues.
Thank you to everybody for playing and for all of the feedback and kind words; we'll be working through your games and providing feedback over the next few days!
Muahaha, stupid tax collectors on their stupid feet can not catch me while I am floating!
Not really a challenge to evade them, but I don't care, since it just feels so amazing to play anyway! The music is fabulous and combines with the cell-shading to give it a brilliantly wacky and fun vibe. I absolutely love it!
best harry potter game i played so far! good mechanics sadly some like (pipes for example) didnt work for or i maybe couldt see them fire. other than that it was a pretty fun experience. good magic mechanics
Fantastic name, and the game's pretty good too. being able to see the amount of money I had in the shop would've been a nice QoL upgrade. Quite polished and well scoped - everything in the game was of a consistent quality and nothing felt unfinished.
Hehe nice! I like to think that those tax persons are acctually Mr. Smith (because of the sunglasses ^^") I like your game! The presentation and gameplay are polished and well executed. And most importantly: I had fun :-)
Why did I feel like Neo in the Matrix, battling a horde of Agent Smiths? Lol. Also, was I murdering them and taking their pocket change, or was I prestidigitation-ing them into money? Hmmm.
This was a pretty fun concept. I would have liked to see some more variety or clarity in how the upgrades impacted the enemies or my strategies. But overall, moving around, dodging agents, and shooting magic was fun!
