Scored 108.68 - simple game, but pretty innovative and really well made, i enjoyed my time with it!
But this bucket mate,... either give it at least a fun useless interaction or remove it, i tried sooo long to get this bucket to do stuff X')
Fun game! I really like the sheet animation and the sound effects. The gameplay is interesting and I can see it being fun time killer on a phone. Really hope the bucket does something though LOL. One feedback I have is that the game becomes too slow after 100m, when your boat is full of water after moving 1 meter, and I had to spend 20seconds to remove all the water before moving another 1 meter. To balance this, you can make the boat go faster as difficulty rises. Other than that, well done.

The instructions were confusing. I think they actually made the game harder. But I did kinda enjoy trying to figure it out, it's a big part of the fun as the main game loop here is quite repetitive and gets quite boring fast. Oh and the help texts getting masked by the clouds didn't help either.

Looked quite good, pretty pleasing colors and so on. The pixel art looked nice but the pixel size was all over the place. Nice water physics too! But could have used more particles (to make it look nicer) and a more consistent pixelated style for those too for consistencies sake.
Aight, went for some more tries and I'm calling this good enough...

Sadly the best strategy seems to be the most boring one. Just sit there doing nothing for a good 2 minutes. Ie. ~125 distance so good job @thoastbot for achieving on getting less than what you do by doing nothing. Then just clear the boat whacking the dude and repeat as long as is needed for the boat to be empty. Then just rinse and repeat until you get bored and fail on purpose.
It seems like the difficulty (dude splashing and boat splashing increase) ramps up fast around 120 to 130 but it doesn't get any more difficult after that.
The dude slapping was annoyingly finicky. Even a fraction of a second of him splashing will mean tenfold that time emptying the boat again. And I tried all the things from wildly waving the sail in the sweet spot to slowly and accurately trying to time a slap when he gets on but found no good rhyme or reason on how to do it with minimal (or no) splashes.
I love the audio and the whole tone of this game - didn't realise there were instructions but had fun working it out regardless! When it looked like the end was in sight I kicked the man off and just let the ship sink itself, seemed more fitting hahaha
A game where sentient piece of cloth tries to escape its captor, only to realize that the ocean is also sentient, and wants nothing more than to hop in a boat, and sail away from the foreboding man.
Cool Art style, Fun mechanics (although confusing), and a smooth difficulty curve.
This game is so funny, the audio is exceptionally well done and the mechanic is super original and fun. Took a moment to grasp what's going on. Really well done!
This is such a beautiful entry! The controls were a bit hard to understand at first but figuring them out was satisfying. The animations and sound effects are awesome! Managed to get to 120.10 on the third attempt when I finally lost my sheet.
I love the feel of the game. The actions feel good and this is great how the sail is used in different ways.
The difficulty feels a bit unfair after 120 meters though. You have to stop every few meters to empty the boat again and the sail doesn't absorb much (something like a bucket would be much more handy ;))
Overall I enjoyed playing it. There is something about the boat just going there own way alone that is very funny to me :D
Loved the art style and music, however I feel like there wasn't much incentive to follow the intended gameplay loop and I got a score above 200 by letting the boat move for 2 minutes without me doing anything. It's a great concept and I'm sure you can take it somewhere. Good work!
What a funny game! I love all the details like the angry man getting hit by the boat. The animations are fluid and the game mechanics worked fine. You have a really cool style going, and I enjoyed playing.
- Clean and warm color palette
- Overall a great and simple design
- Clear mechanics and indications on what's going on
- Music pleasant to your ears
- Crips controls and feel!
Cons:
- Quite tricky to understand at first
- I just don't like loosing my sheeeet
A great entry with a small humorous twists. Great Job!
The game looks great and has fantastic animation, and I love the music and sound. The music reminds me of the DS era. It took a few runs to figure out how the game worked, but alas I couldn't reach 150. Got to 122 at the most. It's a really nice and solid entry, great work!
My record is 83, then 113, it's hilarious and made me laugh a lot. The music accompanies and the idea is very original. What happens to me sometimes is that the boat's sail is not visible. Still, great game!
I like the art style and the sound. The sheet sprites especially add a ton of character. I was ready to hit the open sea, that tune was so catchy. Very nicely done, and a great take on the theme.
I lost my sheet trying to understand the game. But messing with the sheet feels really good and polished. Love the particle effects, the pixel art and the humour. Nice job!
This was a very funny game, loved the guy trying to catch up to the boat! The thing that confused me a bit was that you had to place the sheet on the pole and not throw it (which to be fair, was probably on me)
There is something very charming about a sheet wanting to move the boat along and a lazy guy trying to mooch off the hard work the sheet is doing. Fun game and the mechanics work well, even if it's a little confusing at times. I appreciate the work you've done on the sounds and music, they really bring out the atmosphere!

Really fun game! I stopped at 200 because i felt like i could have gone forever, just very very slowly. and at some point it became a bit tedious.
I really liked the concept about using the sheet for everything, also very fun to se that poor guy swimming after the boat! :P
Love the mechanics and very fun. A+ sound effects. The difficult seems to ramp up slowly which is nice for first play through but it gets a little too hard in my opinion around 100+.
I really liked the game. You got some nice looking water meta balls there ;)
My record was 154.
My only complain is that I needed like 10min to even understand what I was supposed to do :D
Very original, and intuitive controls with the Sheet, which I lost it at some point. Add some challenges and sheet upgrades and you have a nice catchy ipad game here.
Funky music, cool sound effect, fun title and nice game!
I played only once, and because I saw that reaching 150 meant smashing it, I tried my best to get past that point. After around 100 I experienced quite an increase in difficulty. ;)
In the end the game became somewhat tedious, so I decided to stop after 167. ;)
Great entry! :D

-edit-
I just had another look at it while giving ratings, and I noticed that if you just immediately hang the sail, the boat just speeds away and you never see the angry man again. My ship then crashed around 127, without doing anything. ;)
Oh, and I really like how the particles of water worked! Well done!
Great entry, I played more that I though I would!
However it got real hard when reaching a 100 distance, and I couldn't bear repeating the same task forever with this annoying little man, that I though I was supposed to save at first haha! Great plot twist on that :)

Loved the music, very good pixel arts graphics and good mood, thanks!

So yeah, that's about it. Good job!

Fun game, impressive compo entry for sure. Good sound and graphics with original gameplay!
At first I thought the music was dynamic and reacting to what I was doing. Maybe that's not the case, but maybe it is :-)
