10 Second Mixtape is a casual game about teaming up to make 10-second songs with other real people from all over the world. Every track in the game is player-generated; absolutely nothing is prewritten.
Don't worry if you're not musically inclined! There are no winners here — it's all about having fun and making silly sounds.

You load into The Venue, your favorite spot to hang out and watch bands!
The bands that hit the stage playing 10-second songs are all other players' creations. Your ratings will affect how often that band is booked for shows in everyone else's games.

When you start the game, you'll be given a random instrument and bandmate, and you'll record a 10 second track.
A request to players: please don't submit random noise as your track! Everyone else has to play using your submissions. Thanks! 😽

From there, it's time to add more layers! You can pick from demo tapes sent in by other potential band members to add to your track.

Finally, it's time to take this show on the road! Watch your band perform the full song live in front of their new fans.
Your new 10-second song will go into the infinite playlist of bands that play at The Venue.

Rock on! 🤙
🎧 Note: Avoid using bluetooth headphones for this game — the input lag makes it hard to play.

Well, now you can! Thanks yo 10-second-mixtape, anyone can become a musician!
Very fun small game.
Love the idea. The overall mood of the game screams just pure innocent fun!
Love how you've implemented the theme.
Graphics are amazing, really nice entry!
Huge GG!
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it!! :D
@keffk5 I hope you had fun on stage!!! :D
The sprites are really well done and fit the games super lighthearted not too serious mood really well.
My final mixtape had me actually cackling due to how absurd and wacky it was. While the music nerd in me wanted to make a decent sounding track, it was really amusing just making the most absurd track possible. 10/10 would jam again
Would be really nice to have the possiblity to move the notes to adjust timing.
Had a lot of fun and being on stage at the end is such a cool idea!
I could do with some options to erase specific tracks so that I don't start all over if I mess up, but that's such a small thing compared to how awesome this is. Seriously one of the best entries I've seen in this and any jam tbh. Amazing work, well done!
I love the experience. I wish there was a way to navigate through all the results freely but yeahhh. Me gusta!
I felt the same way as you about the notes, and passed the message along hehe. Thank you again! Glad you enjoyed playing!

Game is back! The perils of making an online game — if your database crashes while the network guy is asleep, we get some downtime. Thanks for being patient :)
Also I hope we get a most highly rated songs video (like a top 10) after the jam as a community post!
This was a blast to play, thanks for bringing it by the stream!
I loved the visuals and the gameplay concept, as well as the main game loop of making a song -> rating some others' music.
the only question is... how do I rate the audio category for this?!
I had a lot of fun with this! All the music I compose is in a synthesizer, but I usually just click to place notes. Having the use the keyboard makes it extra tricky, but that added to the chaotic fun.
Here's the video if you want to rock along to "music" I put together.

For the melody editor, I would like the following improvements:
1. Add the ability to move notes.
2. Make it so that when composing a melody, you can select a fragment of a song that will be played in a loop, and at this time it can be edited. It is not very convenient to listen to the recording again many times for the sake of changing in one place.
3. It would be very convenient if it was possible to lengthen/shorten notes manually.
It is clear that during the jam it is quite difficult to implement on a par with other things.
In my opinion, you have done a great job. There is a lot of beautiful art, there is a design of different characters, a selection of sounds, the composition of melodies, an implemented editor, the presence of the results of other players. Amazing job!
@100th_Coin I'm glad you got the chance to play!! It is a shame about the "Enterprise" maybe someday we can have it so that the selections get saved through shuffles. xD Kudos to "The Documentary" LOL!!
@shumarie Certainly would like to improve on those things! Perhaps after the jam~ Thank you for enjoying the game!
And on top of all that, the presentation is absolutely charming. This is my favorite entry so far, mostly because it matches exactly the kind of concept I love!
I actually disagree with suggestions to improve the melody editor, I think it's perfect as it is. It makes it feel like a real jam session, which is the whole point. Absolutely well done.
I lucked out and my band got an *amazing* cat lyricist.
The whole vibe was great. The art really set me up to be in a creative space. The game showed a lot of polish, but I feel like the volumes of the instruments could be tuned a bit better.
I will score it ignoring the lag though - as it seems from the comments either I'm the only having this problem, or the only one bothered by it.
I also love games that do something interesting with music, so this is excellent!! And I love that it has you collaborate with random other people. The melody input is kind of janky, but I think that's a good thing in a way -- it makes you not feel like you have to worry about getting it 100% right. The sort of 'half-baked-ness' of the songs you come up with is part of the charm, haha.
Social and pseudo-multiplayer games are always very interesting to see. When compared to the last jams entry, I think this one is slightly worse. This is because the tapes are filled with tracks where people were just testing the game and mashing buttons. This inconsistency in quality did not matter too much in a painting game (and you were fixing other people's art anyway) but here it takes away from the experience if it is impossible to make the end result sound decent - especially if the player understands something about music.
But not to sound overly negative, I think this entry is still superb and highly innovative. It just shows the potential challenges social games like this may have with a need to curate content or match the player with at least decent content to give them a change to get good results.
Great work!
I had a doubt about the theme. "It's just 10s loops". But the "Every" makes sense when we see all the work for sharing players 10s loops. Finally, I think it's a good/smart use of the theme.
The design is incredible, as the mood (Not when I listen my music, but it's MAYBE because I'm terrible on playing music). A lot of details like the buttons' names, etc. The atmosphere is perfect.
Really a very very good job !
While the mixtapes I was part of were pretty bad, it's awesome you try to explore user generated content in video game form even further. That being said, I kind of missed walking through neverending hallways to explore on my own...
Nevertheless, awesome experience!
Hopefully if you check back again you'll see it. xD
Thanks for playing our game! :D
Also honestly, I absolutely suck at everything music related, especially the creation part. Well, mostly the creation part (I played the piano when I was little and was decent at it, and I can tell pretty easily what sounds good and what doesn't - but create something... The nightmare).
So, everything I try to play sounds atrocious. EVERY SINGLE THING.
I loved the concept though, it's so cool and it works so well!
I'm just way too bad at it T_T
Some feedback:
- It was really hard to make notes with the same duration (maybe multiple fixed duration instead of full analog would have made it easier - but maybe it would have taken something from the creation process, I don't know.
- Clicking on notes to remove them was hard (when I finally understood I could do that). A more generous hitbox, maybe? An option to remove only one line or even one measure would have been great too!
- That's mostly personal and I'm not really sure it could be done, but a "beginner at music" or "I suck at creating music" option would have been awesome too with less liberty in the creation, like very fixed notes duration, or locked timings, but more chances to do something that does not sound atrocious xD)
This is the best game I played honestly - most polished, really fun concept, really nice execution. I just suck at it ahah
Visuals are gorgeous, all the sounds are perfect
Best game I've played so far, by a lot
The character design is fabulous and the whole idea super wholesome !
Thanks for the vibes, it gives a lot of smiles
(The dogs reminds me so much of Undertale's one
@flyingkaida Thank you for playing!! And I agree with your choice of instruments! :D
<3
The graphics are beautiful and the randomization of possibilities (at least it seems random to me) is very good.
The only thing missing was the possibility of recording your music so that other people could listen and rate it, but I imagine that will come in the future.
Congratulations!
@euler-moises The bands you hear at the start/front page are the bands/music that others have made, it's shown in random but you can either rate them up (this rocks) or down (no me gusta) and those that get rated up can get shown more often to other players. So it's there, just showing in random. xD
