This is really good!!! The world is actually so interesting and the idea is very unique. Although it might be harder to run on some PCs, the graphics are really nice as well. Only thing I would recommend is the ability to jump as I got stuck on terrain a bit sometimes. I found myself playing until the very end. Bravo to you all!
Hi there! The atmosphere is definitely very nice, the sounds, the graphics really plays together. I have a lower end PC so the frame rate was not the best, but overall really enjoyed the visuals. The gameplay is entertaining, overall a nice little game. I would advise you to create a web version as well, much more people will try your game if it's available from the browser. Nice job!
OH YES AND DON'T LET ME FORGET ABOUT THE MUSIC! Goes super hard. Could you link it here so I could listen to it, or if it's a custom track could you upload it to YouTube or something? Thanks. :)
Crazy game, crazy atmosphere. The area changing through the game was a surprise! I can see you have experience and skill, here is some little criticisms:
- Having markers or a minimap would have helped tremendously with finding the summon spots
- A crosshair would have helped for picking up the livers, or better, just letting you pick them up without looking at them directly
Other than that, I really love the style, Great work.
Why hello there! Fellow bird jammer, this was awesome, I felt my fans starting to go (lmao) but none the less this game was graphically stunning, would've loved a setting to maybe tone down the graphic quality.
I'm not a fan of wordplay-type interpretation of themes, but this title grabbed my heart. The gameplay may not be that challanging but I think this game is all about the mood. Also the boss monster looks amazing. I wish we could get more gameplay with interactions with it
Big fan of the general atmosphere of this game. The visuals and the soundtrack fit together very nicely and the little narrative snippets deepened my interest in the ingame world. Unfortunately, the exploding gulls, funny as they may admittedly be, repeatedly broke my immersion. I wouldn't say that gulls are generally incompatible with the rest of this beautiful dark world you've created; I'm guessing it's mainly the fact that they explode that throws me off. Or perhaps it's just not my kind of humour (which is why I chose not to rate that category).
Other than that, though, I don't have anything to complain about, I really enjoyed this game overall! A crosshair might've been nice to make it easier to point at objects, but for a game jam it's completely fine even without one ^^
This is really interesting. I dig the aesthetic and mood, it has something very Lovecraft / Arrival about it (the latter for the spacecraft especially), with its dark, coastal vibes.
The gameplay isn't very smooth yet (attacking is a bit clumsy imho, and it's not quite clear what the special ability is?), but I'd argue that doesn't really matter in this context - because I was walking around the world, curious about what I'd find, reading every message I could!
I also really like the 'lighthouse motif', how it's used for various pieces of the scenery.
@bart-diepvries I'm afraid the game would not run at all on a web build unless we scaled back the graphics far too much. As for a mac build, we have no way of testing a mac build properly due to lack of any macs on the team and so could not really troubleshoot any problems that would probably arise with shader incompatibilities and such. Sorry :(
I am the gull queen! Hush peasents, present your beach-snacks and the food that's cooling on your balconies! *Cough* What I meant to say is I loved playing through this game, it has a great atmosphere and there isn't anything that's gonna piss europeans off as much as taking their livers.. "Have fun not drinking anymore". Oh they're dead, aren't they?
I really love you guys went weird with it and I thoroughly enjoyed that ride!
Just the right amount of nightmare fuel to satisfy my sleep paralysis demon. Really impressive that ya'll took on a 3d FPS for the jam! great job everyone! Little sad I couldn't bunny hop while droppin birds on their pilgrim butts.
Oh... Seagull + Liver -> Gulliver... I'm so slow :'D! Loved the unique vibe and engaging world you've created. Graphics are a treat, and the soundtrack truly rocks. Gameplay's fun - though I did miss jumping around a bit. A weirdly wonderful ride!
This game's vibe is solid as hell. I got shivers when I jumped into the water, and stumbling across the massive ground-eyeballs was gross in all the right ways. Really incredible art direction and implementation, damn. The gameplay felt pretty simple, it seemed like I was just hitting a button every time a new enemy showed up, but I wasn't too concerned with that as most of the time I was just running to every corner of the island looking for cool stuff. I swallowed my fears and ran through the water out of bounds, and I ended up on top of the eyeball cube in the sky, which was a super fun moment. Your environment design is wild, please keep using these skills. Great job!!
