Greetings, Solar Sandwiches Associate! We welcome you to this orientation program for new members of our team. You provide value to the customers of Solar Sandwiches by picking up orders and delivering them to the appropriate destination, as indicated by the flashing sandwich outline.

Your Solar Sandwiches Interplanetary Delivery Vehicle has two simple controls:

  • Turn left/right with A/D or the left/right arrow keys
  • Apply thrust with W or the up arrow key

Please note that deliveries in space are much more hazardous than those on the planet surface! Once in motion, your Solar Sandwiches Interplanetary Delivery Vehicle will maintain a constant velocity unless you rotate to the opposite direction and apply braking thrust. Contact with a planetary surface will cause catastrophic disassembly of the Solar Sandwiches Interplanetary Delivery Vehicle.

Good luck, associate!

Honestly I think the only thing preventing me from having fun is my patience haha. I get that it's unwieldiness is the point but maybe make it a teeeeensy less unwieldy? Otherwise great job! (oh i should mention, there was some weird UI scaling issues in the build, specifically with the post-level buttons)

The particle effects for the explosion looked nice. The planets and moons sucked you in, so you had to keep moving. I grew used to the acceleration quickly, but it took a while for me to get used to the turning, an interesting twist since you could spin out of control.

Cool game! The controls are a little difficult to learn, but once you get used to them, this game gets really addicting. I do think that at least for the jam submission, the rotation could use a little dampening over time just to ease out the learning curve. The only other complaint I have is that it takes a while to die after going off screen. There are many things that could help here; a dedicated restart button, a little bubble that points to your ship if it goes off screen, or something like that. Other than that, the game is great! I especially like the artstyle.

Also, I keep wanting the spaceship to do the smash bros KO effect when it dies. Maybe that's just me.

I like the minimilist aesthetic a lot, and particularly the explosion effect. Cool premise, too. I do think that while they're supposed to be loose-feeling, the controls could use some tightening up, as it's a bit frustrating currently. I also wish you died instantly when you went off screen, as it seemed the ship went for a while before dying. Overall, nice game!

Really fun game! Thoroughly enjoyed playing it! Super loved the idea of it and the physics engine behind it was immaculate!

I wish there was a quick reset button, and maybe a snappier turn.

Dark Souls-like delivery game ahhhhhhh lol!!

I spent 15 minutes trying to get passed level 3 and just couldnt - I am a weak weak gamer ugh. The controls were wild but I think thats the point, definitely need to up my skills before I can become an intergalactic space delivery boy.

The effects were dialed in beautifully, nice bloom and punchy particle explosions!

Great submission :)

Solar Sandwiches, that is an excellent jam game name. Like a really good name. I think that the theming, graphics, and audio are all very on point! The game was a bit too unwieldy for me to handle but I like the idea.

The visuals on the game were super clean, the controls wild at first but I figured out a trick which got me to the end.... then I saw a leaderboard.... and you know I am not going have my name mid pack.... 30 minutes later....

@str8griz, that is *incredible!* Last night I watched while a streamer got that 00:49, and I thought, "There's no *way* anyone's going to top that!" 00:33 has got to be getting close to the fastest theoretically possible time. I salute you.

@guardaro I think I have a problem... I went to bed and all night was like I think we can get sub 30.... so I woke up early just to try:

Really what I am saying is great job on the game and would love to see future levels built out.

@str8griz HOW?! You're not human! You're some kind of machine designed to win at videogames. Incredible.

I love the artstyle and music. But the gameplay needs some tweaking. Either make character screen wrap or tweak max speed and momentum gain. Died to much to flying offscreen not able to slow down\recover.

This was a whole lot of fun! I was drawn into the game by the artstyle, which was done very well, and stayed cause of the leaderboard. I didn't do very good, but that's okay. My only critiques are what other people have said. The game just feels way too out of control. I know I have control of the rocket, but dang it just does not feel nice to control it with how slippery it is. I also hated when my rocket would go offscreen and I just had to wait to die. I wish I died when I hit the edge of the screen. Other than that, great job!

As of this moment I am number three on the leaderboard! This was a lot of fun. I did think the rotational momentum could've been dialed down a little bit though. The graphics were really nice and I had a really good time playing. It's really tricky but I like goofy control schemes

I hate this game :D Not because it is bad, but because it is really good and I am so bad playing it
It looks so cool, bugt I just have no patience for games like this. So I also use too much power and then end up anywhere but where I wanted to go. Sadly I don't have the concentration left to fight through it today, but I like what I saw enough for a good rating

The art style and music choice are phenomenal on this game. That said it would be nice if was a dedicated restart button and you died as soon as you went off screen. Lastly maybe I'm just bad at it but the controls feel abit unwieldy on keyboard and mouse.

This was extremely hard at first, then it became extremely easy, and fun.

I think the sensitivity of the controls is too high, I was really frustrated with them until I figured out I needed to start tapping on the keyboard instead of trying to full speed through levels, which would have felt really satisfying.

In the end I had a blast though, and managed to complete the game without mistakes, and in a decent time
