LOVE the movement of the vehicle! It's this super clumsy control scheme where the easiest way to turn around is to hold both forward or back and left or right at the same time, so you're constantly pulling donuts while you're trying to get anywhere. Very very interesting and silly.
Picking up body parts doesn't seem to work for me though--I just crash into them and they go flying away, so I didn't get to upgrade my vehicle, and each run ended with me being surrounded by like 20 identical cars and being unable to move. Which is also funny!
Loved the Mad Max energy here--you nailed the post-apocalyptic vibe. I was a little confused about what the different items did--I ended up with a gun in my inventory (I think?) but I'm not sure it did anything. And, it was occasionally confusing that the other cars looked just like mine! Really liked the feel of the driving controls and collisions--was pretty satisfying to drive around. Nice game!
Funny game! I enjoyed the art style a lot.
I too had problems in the beginning to drag an drop the items into the trunk. I think the area for interaction needs to be adjusted so that it is easier to get a hold while driving. Clubs were the only items I couldn't grab at all, though.
I'd be lovely if you added some score numbers, goals or a winning scenario. I didn't know what else to do, after drifting around for a few minutes.
Keep it up!
PS: Since the programmers mostly get complaints for bugs instead of praises for their neat scripts: Very good job, folks ;-)
It looks really nice, and the main idea is really interesting! Controls feels a bit weird at first, but after some upgrades it gets better. Picking up body parts is really hard, maybe slow motion or even a pause when the trunk is opened would help, as well as bigger hitboxes for the body part. Good job though, I could really see this expanded upon.
Really great atmosphere, visuals, and audio - feels like a slightly more cutesy version of mad max
The inventory management is a fun idea, and the driving starts to feel really satisfying with a few handling upgrades. I found it quite hard to drive while rearranging my inventory but I'm guessing that's intentional to add to the challenge.
Is it possible to kill the enemy cars? I drove round in circles shooting them for a while but they wouldn't die so I just went back to avoiding them.
Visually very cool. Has vibes of the flash heyday, which is wonderful. I found it very easy to get trapped by the other cars, and even with the gun upgrade, they don't seem to be able to die. Without a goal, the novelty can wear off a bit quickly, but the car felt fun and 'car-like' to drive around. Particle effects are on point. Solid entry.
Very cool concept! There's something oddly satisfying about improving your car by grabbing body parts off the ground. Also, the chase cars mowing down the wastelanders is great! It felt very clunky when the chase cars caught up and surrounded my car if I got stuck on something. You delivered a great game!
