Dandelion by ProgramGamer

[raw]
made by ProgramGamer for LD34 (COMPO)
An RTS revolving around the mutually beneficial relationship of a bug colony and a patch of garden plants. Use the mouse to command your army to victory against the evil purple spiders. Slay them all to win!

-Left click: select units
-Right click: move units and set rally points
-Buttons on the right: Various unit specific actions

Have fun with this one!

Advice:
-Don't let your queen die, if she does you can't get another one unless you have a spare larvae and three different fruits.
-You can transform larvae into warriors by feeding them different kinds of fruit and hitting the appropriate transform button.
-There is only one level. Stay posted, I might keep working on this once Game Maker fixes some of its issues.

Nifty graphics. I get that the leaves give you more resources but I couldn't figure out what else to do. What are the fruits for?

The game seems technically sound, but the design is a real mess.
Ants eating strawberries to cocoon up to turn into grasshoppers?!
Videogame logic aside, the 'economy' of click larva, click fruit, click larva to fruit, click morph is exceedingly tedious to produce basic combat units.

Seems like you have a good base of a game going; you should carefully consider if this is the direction you want the game to go.

Nice and clear pixel-art, you have there.
Like @Finestep said, the whole process of creating units is really cumbersome, especially if they clump up and you try to manage a bunch of them at once. Also the HUD hides the right-most part of the map.
Since the enemies just sit there and wait until you come and kill them, there was no real challenge and eventually I killed them all.

"Dandelion.exe is not commonly downloaded and could harm your computer". I usually find that linking direct .exe for download causes problems. I can probably configure Windows to accept it, but I'd rather not disable that security feature. Maybe you could just zip it?
