Really fun infinite runner, the theme is very cute. I love that knocking things down is rewarded!
It's fun that all cats have their own use. The spotted cat ended up being my main, but there were lots of situations where another cat is more advantageous.
@adrmille - yessss! The satisfying *clunk* with the striped cat is exactly what I was going for :)
@andrew-michienzi - I'm very happy the 5 cats came out as balanced as they did :)
Thank you all for playing!
On a side note, friend, you might consider providing more gifs of your cats on the game's main page. They are so adorable that many people, including myself, would love to collect them:D
@drgcandle - I'm so glad that you enjoyed it :') I very much enjoyed creating it and play-testing it myself. That is a good idea about the extra gifs, perhaps I shall add more! Thanks for playing!
My favorite was striped cat. I loved the way he absolutely yeets the cat'erang.
I was laughing even though I was losing!
Really Good stuff,
Great Work!
Yes, it looks goofy, yes, you can't see white cursor on white background (and thus can't aim properly). Yes, I could just play as small cat (5th), just let hands off the keyboard and still have points go up... But when I tried to optimise point gain, it was super fun to switch between different cats (mainly between striped attacker, double-jumper and small). This is a fun core mechanic which, if you were to continue this game, could lead to a solid game.
Keep up the good work!
I almost died laughing when I saw the 4th cat flying out lol.
I think this one is pretty complete for the Jam, it can be played for quite a while even without a hard objective/end condition. I wish I could lower the volume/mute (didn't find it if it is in), but that is pretty minor. Great job!
Really cute idea, and it was fun trying out different cats with their little quirks ^^ The design is cool, the cats are cute (tiny one is my favourite but fluffy is also adorable when it poofs out!) and the premise is simple but unique, I liked it a lot!
Only I think regular cat might be a bit useless rn (I understand it is our default but I ran only with her at the start for a while and couldn't catch any rats ;_;)
@thebigjut - thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed the challenge! I was afraid it was going to be too difficult especially considering I didn't have time for in-game controls. I'm pretty happy with how it turned though!
@kseniya - thanks for playing!
@dan-allison - thanks for playing, I'm glad you had fun! I had a lot of fun designing the poofy cat
@fupi - thanks for the feedback! yes if I had just another couple hours I would have definitely added in-game controls, the game as it is you kinda gotta lose a few rats before you get a hang of things.
@cassowary - yeah the mini cat ended up being my favorite too, especially since the game is endless. I originally was going to have the game be maybe 2 or 3 minutes long, which would entice you to more strategically switch between cats, but that didn't make the cut haha.
@kanity - Thank you for playing! I'm glad you enjoyed the artwork, I had a lot of fun with the designs. yeah the black/purple cat doesn't do anything special, I think the main purpose of her is that she is free to swap to so you can get back up onto the counters for free if you are the mini cat
