Sandtown by UnidayStudio

Hi and welcome to your city Sandtown!
This is a quick trailer explaining the game, you can also watch this in the main menu!
https://youtu.be/Ek1LUMdIZYk
This is a small experiment I made to create a relaxing building experience for you, the player.
So sit comfortably, relax, and let your creativity come to life to build some tiny amazing worlds to call yours.
There is no winning or losing here. Just you and the ability to summon objects in a sandbox. Just like the old times!
If you want, you can consider sharing a Screenshot of your city in the Comments!
Enjoy!

Congratulations on the game, it's incredible. Well planned, well done, without theme and the graphics are wonderful.
My game I've seen so far, good luck with the game jam!
Overall I think the whole experience should be quite relaxing.
As an idea how to make it a bit more game I'd consider to have some blocks / interactions between blocks and will let user to build with some limit to get the highest score or smth like that. But tbh just a relax building will be as well quite pleasant experience
Sorry I didn't mean to sound harsh. I think you have a great foundation for a building game or a building sandbox. I think you just need to pick a direction and run with it!
I think it would improve the cozy vibe if the player could choose and remove any building element without having to push the randomize button all the time.
Also, a roof with a square base would nice to cover some of the cubes.
Otherwise, I was happy to see a building game in this jam!
I'll try to make something pretty to set as my desktop background as well xD. Cheers from Brazil :v:
As for me it's not that much fitting the theme but you did put tons of love into it.
I like this genre and in this game everything fits and resonates it's chill town building core.
Obviously not so much time to add more to it but for me there was missing one small addition - destruction of objects which are not on another solid object. For example when we delete something below.
Thanks for making this!
Unlike some other commenters, I enjoyed the randomness - I think it helps boost creativity by giving you a limited set of options to choose from. That way, you can "go with the flow" more easily. That said, I do think you should add a "creative" game mode where you can choose whatever you want in case you are planning to develop this further.
The graphics are lovely and the sounds relaxing, exactly as they should be  I mean, except for the "explosion" sound of the bomb, that felt a bit out of place (too digitally-sounding, I guess?). Also, just thinking out loud, maybe the bomb object could be replaced by a less violent option, like a hammer? It would be more fitting for the relaxing mood you're aiming to establish.
Overall, great work, I enjoyed playing! It reminds me of Townscaper (maybe that's where some of the inspiration came from?).
Very good!!
It's incredible that it's only 10mb and it's also incredible that you made it in your game engine, the Cave is evolving!

One thing that confused me a little is where the objects will appear, it would be interesting to perhaps have a shadow or an indication at the location.
Good job!
