This is an honest 5/5 for me. Theme is amazing, the mood is amazing. I literally felt like I was back in front of my gameboy color while sunday morning cartoons were playing in the background. Good job ♥ Keep making games

Top notch game!

Awesome game! Really good job! 5/5

This kicks ass! The visuals, music and sfx are all spot on! I listen to a lot of 90's megadrive/snes OST's and the music really does have that vibe. Well done. The only improvement i'd like is tooltips or some way of seeing the info provided in game :)

I absolutely love this game! An autobattler with some awesome pixel art and a kickass soundtrack too - what isn't there to enjoy? There's such a great selection of units to choose from and good variety in enemy encounters to help keep you mixing up your strategy. The only thing that would improve things would be some clear indication as to what the health of your units is during the fight and a better explanation in-game as to what each unit does, but for a jam entry I can't complain.
I hope you continue to develop this once the event is over, I'd love to buy and play a full version of this. One of the best games I've played so far!

this a very pleasant and nice looking idle game, i wish there was more than one boss because i could continue playing it a lot more! the variety of demons and their powers is something really cool to see in a jam game!

the only minor issues i see are the fact that the countdown before the match begins was exactly where i wanted to place my minions so it was a little bit eye-bothering, the pentagram showing which elements beats which was not super readable to me, and it would have been cool if there was a description of what minion does what on the game screen (and not only on the itch page).

apart from that, great job!

I absolutely adore the GBC aethetic, I'm looking to make a game in that style too. The animations are great, especially the little knight. The sound effects fit really well too! One little thing is I think it would be good if you could see health bars of the creatures in combat. I chose the water monster and the first combat took quite a while and I wasn't too sure how well my team was doing, I realised my guy was a healer but yeah, healthbars. Apart from that, a really, really good entry and fits the theme perfectly!

(Also a little description of each monster when you hover over them would be nice, possibly with some info about their stats or skills?)

Amazing game! It looks and sound really good, the minions are all unique and useful in different situation they all seem to have their place in your summoning choice. The only thing I would've liked to see is healthbar, especially since there is healers both with you and your enemies.

Art style, music, sound effects, some character design - everything made me think of old Zelda and Pokemon games, and for me that's always a huuuge plus.

The execution of the minion mechanic is neat and comfortable, and I love all the cute creatures. Animation and visual effects were great too.

Overall it's cute and relaxing, and I like that we can retry a fight right away instead of having a gameover and being thrown out into the beginning of the game (tbh that's what I kinda expected!)

At some point, it was pretty fun figuring out a better choice & placement to win a round (I mean, when it got bit harder, as at first our minions are pretty much wiping the enemy out ^^)

I noticed elements of my minions not straight away, didn't immediately realize one is a healer (he was standing doing nothing however, so that was a clue, and then there was animation with a heart of him healing other minion, so it's not completely hidden from the player or anything). Maybe just a short description on minion types in the beginning would be helpful <3

To be honest, I didn't find healer type particularly helpful here, though maybe it works with another approach to playstyle :) They heal a bit but that doesn't change much (as far as I can tell w/o seeing the stats), and if they are the only left alive, they can't really defend themselves, it seems.

Just chillin watching eye showdown:

It's got a great feel to it, and I love the art and music!
You hit a nice balance with the challenges, especially considering the time frame and the amount of minion variety. Awesome stuff!

Fellow devs who made a roguelike auto-battler about summoning elemental minions who fight through 10 random rooms up to a boss that changes elements! Hi there, haha!!

The GameBoy look is absolutely perfect (I adore these sprites so) and the tunes are fun to jam to even when you get crushed a bunch of times in a row. It took me a while to really understand what I was doing wrong in a given room, but there is clearly strategy to how you place your troops.

Probably my only real criticisms are that the time limit for placing units feels somewhat unnecessary and I really wish you didn't have to choose a new minion after a fight if you feel your team setup is good.

Still, I had a blast! I just couldn't clear the boss no matter how I tried, but I might well come back to this one after the jam just to try again. One of my favorites this jam.
