This game was made as part of the Ludum Dare 55, which theme was: "Summoning".

In this game, you summon demons to fight endless waves of biblical-ish agents.

CONTROLS AND GAMEPLAY

1.png You leave a blood trail as you move (W-A-S-D | Z-Q-S-D | Arrows)

3.png Draw loops around enemies' souls to summon a demon.

4.png Merge an existing demon with souls, or with another demon, by drawing a loop around them. It will make your demon level up!

2.png Grab the blood goblets to expand your trail. Survive as long as possible!

Loved it!, gameplay felt like a unique variation of the classic snake game but with added dangers of ranged enemies. Graphics and menu art are superb! Will deffo replay when the leaderboard is fixed at the end as I'd love to see if I'm actually any good at the game haha.

Good submission. Enemues are func, angelic dues with wide pistols. Gameplay is unique and fun. Non-frontal confrontation through your summons is done good

Your games are always such high quality, this is no exception! This is not my kind of game so I'm very bad at it haha but I love the presentation and the progressing crazyness in the game!

Salut la Guilloteam!

Incredibly game as always. The feeling when you make a huge circle and every soul gather into that big boss demon, sooooooooooo good!!

Graphics are on point, fun is top-notch, and music is very :ok_hand:

Balancing is very nice too, at first I thought "hey, just wait for a longer trail and I can cheese that", but it turns out that you have to keep a balance between not too many weak one, and not too few demons in total. Death by being overwhelmed after greedly focusing on 1 single demon felt... rightfully punishing :joy:

Loved it, will replay more for sure! :fire:

The game is really cool it remind me of Vampire survivor but with demon and CIA lol, I really love the idea of drawing circle to summon ally gg ! :)

Very good survivors type game, I really liked the use of circling to summon things! I got on the leaderboard as of time of posting, it was super fun! I feel like there were a few times I got surprised by getting hit, I know the enemy's projectiles are a different color, but it'd be nice to make them stand out even more.

cool idea! I feel like the summons could be more balanced, some feel weaker than others, and it would be nice if you could use the souls on near the walls. But overall a pretty fun game and a solid entry!

Very polished game, had a lot of fun with it! Really nice gameplay loop, feels great to summon more and more powerful demons and keep watching my trail get longer with more artefacts. Great work!

This is unreal for a jam game - super polished graphics, audio, and even gameplay. You could tell it was gonna be good because even the card images on this webpage look great. Loved the environment too, well done!

Great concept, and even greater execution. The art is great, the music is very nice, and it plays really smoothly. The difficulty ramps up nicely, so it has a great "let's try that again"-feeling. Great job guys!

@zyntist Hahaha you nailed it! Wish we had some time to do some in-depth balancing, we didn't quite anticipate that you could go infinite! Hundreds of particles spawned probably doesn't help x)

This game was very cool! The sock demons however, very weak!!! Really liked trying to create different demons while dodging the... cops? The only thing that was a bit difficult; at the start the cops could block you from creating demons by blocking your path.

This is a fun idea! This jam version of the game is held back by there being only shoot-straight-at-you-slow-projectile enemies, making it almost impossible to ever lose. But obviously with more time, more interesting enemies could be added, and I could see this getting super tight and panicked! Having to plan out circles to draw while dodging complex projectile patterns could be really rewarding. Music's a good vibe too.

Not sure why there are two tutorials. Also, souls and chalices can spawn out of bounds, and the blood trail resetting when you pick up a chalice feels weird and emergency-bugfixish. All-in-all, just polish issues really. Cool stuff!

The game looks great, I love the details of things like enemies climbing down from ropes instead of appearing. I feel like the game was missing one mechanic to add a little something to help with some of the slower moments, something like a weak projectile or maybe a dash. A dash in particular feels like it could complement the circle drawing. Still a very fun game great work team! :heart:

great game as always! would be nice if theres shadow where the enemies is dropping cuz i lost a couple times when they dropped on me lmao

While I'm far from getting into leaderboard I had a blast playing. Demonic Panic easily one of the best, if not the best game in this Ludum Dare in my opinion. Very well done.

Only thing I might want is to get better feedback when being close to death, because it sometimes comes unexpected.

Also it is nice to see your team making great games almost every jam. I remember your Super Bario Bros and Count Down Dracula. Looking forward to what will you cook next time :heart:

You definitely have your workflow streamlined as a team to be able to put out this kind of polish in a jam! Well done!

All of the visuals were very smooth and satisfying. The audio was engaging, although I felt something was missing. I felt a little disassociated, and I think that was because the player character had no audio. It felt like everything was happening around me, but not to me. Does that make sense?

Otherwise, this was a really satisfying gameplay! I would experiment with faster player move speed (or powerups), which might increase the pace of the game even more.
