I really liked the timed spell-casting process, and I liked the idea of casting 'towers' with such rituals. The only thing I'd recommend is music - Bosca Ceoil is a great tool for making simple chiptunes, and I think that's all y'all would need to give it to bring the game up a notch. Good job, and I can't wait to see what you make next!","format":"md","likes":2,"spam":"N"},{"id":1050960,"author_name":"Zerolarih","author_uid":"zerolarih","epoch":1713314365,"text":"I liked the game idea, found the mechanics interesting, it was a good job","format":"md","likes":1,"spam":"N"},{"id":1054623,"author_name":"43t4re","author_uid":"43t4re","epoch":1713361977,"text":"All parts of a generic single tower defence game exist. Balance could be better, tier-2 hot summoning is the strongest weapon. It's shots sometimes don't disappear, which makes it even more powerful. I guess it is a bug. Also tier-3 hot summoning is good, but has too short time and close range. The rest of summonings are much weaker. Attracting enemies can make tier-3 hot stronger, but tier-2 weaker. \n\nGraphics and sound are low-effort.","format":"md","likes":0,"spam":"N"},{"id":1074310,"author_name":"kaBeech","author_uid":"kabeech","epoch":1714146875,"text":"Nice job! I like how it starts to feel more rhythm-based as the game goes on. Like others have said, I'd love to hear more music in your future games (though I can see how this may introduce complications with timing the rhythm of the player actions). Keep it up!","format":"md","likes":1,"spam":"N"}],"format":"md","images":["ld55\/wayback-placeholder.png"],"links":[{"url":"https:\/\/gitlab.com\/macaroni.dev\/mayhem-engine\/-\/tree\/ld55\/games\/ld\/55","text":"Link"},{"url":"https:\/\/macaroni-static.sfo2.digitaloceanspaces.com\/LD\/Picnicmancy.zip","text":"Link"}],"metadata":{"g_key":"68440","g_author":"1189182","g_event":"LD55","g_eventkey":"120","g_subevent":"JAM","g_urlkey":"292187","g_title":"Picnicmancy","g_status":"WAYBACK","g_place":"99999","g_commentcount":"4","g_site2_node_id":"390092","g_hide":"N","g_has_icon":"Y","g_rqueue":"0","g_random":"0"},"nds":{"n_key":"390092","n_urlkey":"292187","n_parent":"383062","n_path":"\/events\/ludum-dare\/55\/picnicmancy","n_slug":"picnicmancy","n_type":"item","n_subtype":"game","n_subsubtype":"jam","n_author":"189182","n_created":"0","n_modified":"0","n_version":"1222488","n_status":"WAYBACK"},"node":{"id":390092,"parent":383062,"_superparent":9,"author":189182,"type":"item","subtype":"game","subsubtype":"jam","published":"2024-04-16T00:51:26Z","created":"2024-04-13T15:54:46Z","modified":"2024-04-26T15:54:35Z","_trust":5,"version":1222488,"slug":"picnicmancy","name":"Picnicmancy","body":"Save Marie Mouse's Picnic Castle by fighting off the hordes of hungry ants!\n\n![Loader2.png](\/\/\/raw\/ef2\/e2\/z\/62c43.png)\n![Loader3.png](\/\/\/raw\/ef2\/e2\/z\/62d2c.png)\n\n### Installation\nUnzip `Picnicmancy.zip` and run `ld55.exe`\n\n### About Us\n\nWe are a husband and wife studio that someday hopes to make games full-time.\n\nPicnicmancy was built in a custom Haskell 2D game engine.
