I liked the old contra-style controls and aiming! Had a few bugs where my gun would just aim all over the place, but all in all, pretty fun! Keep up the good work!

This was pretty fun. The controls took a bit of getting used to, but I sort of got the hang of them. I think the animations on the axe weren't great and I didn't see a need to use it. I died a lot in the second fight by falling onto the spikes (an insta kill and complete restart seems harsh). I eventually realised I only had to do the summoning sigil right next to the walls, so I skipped the rest to save health (I do like how you get gems AND health from killing baddies). I made it to the boss fight, and kept getting hit by the missile attacks. Some sort of telegraphing to show when they're coming (and from what side) would make it more fun, at least from my perspective.
Overall, a good game!

Pretty fun game, using the numpad was a bit weird (some people don't have numpads), the variety of gameplay was nice, like the number of enemy types. The pace of the game was a bit slow - the player bullets especially - so the gameplay was not as satisfying as it could have been. Solid entry!

A fun little game, I'm terrible at it but I still hand fun just swinging my axe killing things, got a but startled by the portal first time around, and I see the main character has a spike allergy as they should, good job on the game!

Good looking graphics and great audio. I thought i would like the controls but i don't. IF I am tiring to move and jump the move input gets nullified when pressing the jump button, after jumping I have to do the direction again. So I am unable to jump properly. And every time I forget to press z to jump. either I press space or up arrow.

Thanks for playing guys! for some reason keypad keys don't work well with aiming so use numpads instead to shoot/aim in 8 directions while jumping.

Fun retro-style game with quirky controls and classic arcade action. Some bugs and control issues detract from the experience, but overall, it's engaging and nostalgic!

Nice little game. Controls took a bit of getting used to, keep hitting up to jump. Good art and sound. Good work!

Wow the game gives an arcade game feeling in terms of UI and sound styles, like it. Sometimes when I press arrow keys and z together I only jump up but does not move horizontally in air. The game is a little challenging to me but a fun submission to the jam. Good job~

I tried quite a few times but could never beat the final boss! At first I had the same problem that some other people have mentioned: if you try to control the game with arrow keys it doesn't work properly (can only shoot horizontally, and can't move horizontally if holding jump), but using the arrows on a numpad works great. The tunes were great, and I liked the retro feel!

I would have loved some mouse aiming implementations (not a 360 aim, but use mouse placement as a subtitute to keys), but it is a solid entry anyway.
