"Thank you for calling Rex-Terminator, Rex speaking... Yeah... You've got a termite queen how big?? What's your address? Not to worry, I'll be there ASAP."
In Rex-Terminator you play as Rex, your average exterminator and a small business owner. Except Rex does things a bit more... personally, shrinking down to size and taking care of the tiny creatures directly at their source. Rex-Terminator is a side-scrolling bullet hell platformer with one goal: take down The Queen.
Gameplay
The player plays as Rex, equipped with his trusty insecticide-blaster and bug bombs, you'll need to run, jump, and dash your way up the platforms to reach The Queen and take her down once and for all. Along the way you'll encounter the queen's minions in the form of larvae, soldiers, and alates. Larvae, having just hatched from eggs, like to stay along the floor and can't move very fast. Soldiers are tasked by The Queen to keep an aggressive patrol on walls. Alates serve as The Queen's scouts, patrolling the skies and raining projectiles down from above.
Objective
Ascend the inside of the wall, find the Queen and kill her. Once she's killed, the termites will leave the house.

I absolutely love the sound design, the *tss-tss* reload sound, cracked me up every single time. Keep it up!
(P.S. your credit roll above cracked me up - it reminded me of an ancient Flash game "Quest for the Crown" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5_gpXFM7xLc)
Graphics and music work well together, and the voice acting is top notch. Trust me, I know what bad voice acting sounds like...
I also have to compliment the cutscenes—seeing cutscenes in a game jam project is not something I expected. While they might not be the most polished, they effectively conveyed the game's narrative and gave me a solid sense of how the story unfolds. It added a layer of depth that I really appreciated.
My only critique would be that the goal of the game could be clearer. The bugs seem to regenerate indefinitely after being killed, and it left me feeling unsure if there was an ultimate objective beyond simply increasing the kill count. It might help to have a clearer sense of progression or some way to show that you are making meaningful progress towards a specific goal. That said, the different levels with increasingly challenging bugs helped mitigate this, adding variety and keeping the gameplay fresh.
Overall, fantastic work! The mechanics, the cutscenes, and the challenge progression made for a very enjoyable experience. Keep up the great effort!
In any case, good job!
My issue with the game is the controls. They're too slippery for how fast they are. The wall jumps also feel inconsistent. The checkpoints also spawned me on top of enemies. I would also clear an enemy on a wall and jump onto the wall only for an enemy to spawn immediately and damage me.
we need more games like this
I enjoyed the platforming though it was little finicy and hard but got much easier after i realized you CAN and have to dash (always forget something when reading the controlls). Map design reminded of getting over it and other "rage" platformers, dont know if this intentional.
 (2nd attempt)
Liked the respawning enemies, it made the platforming a lot more strategic. Think the controls need some rate-limiting though, as I managed to pull off some suspect double jumps, and spamming dash lets you move VERY quickly.
Had fun with this one, good job!
Played it on stream in case you missed it :)
