Rogue Creatures

This game was made within 72 hours for Ludum Dare 56: Tiny Creatures.

A tiny game filled with tiny creatures. Defeat bosses and upgrade your creatures in order to survive round after round.

I did not plan to take part in Ludum Dare this time around, but I found a bit of time and made this just for fun.

Features:

  • 9 types of upgrades
  • A whole lot of tiny creatures
  • Minimalist pixel art
  • Easy gameplay

Amazing game! loved the scope of the game and the adherance to the theme.

the missing audio was a shame, but it was a good experience. I do feel like the games difficulty is a bit too easy.

Wow, I love this mechanic! It's so interesting to watch how your tribe(?) grows. Anyway, it's an interesting idea.

I love the art style, nice and simple game to pick up too. I do wish my creatures would aim a little better but I got all the way up to wave 14 so was pretty pleased!

I love the mechanics and I love the visual representation of the upgrades! While not an RTS, it's in a similar vein and I am a huge fan of RTS unit management and it scratched that itch.io

It was so hype to select more health and see them get armor! :O

Loved the game! Played until my screen was lagging too much from the vast quantity of lil guys on my team

Awesome retro graphics, I enjoy the visualized upgrades and just the general satisfaction of sending a full army towards some deer.

Fantastic job all around!

Really fun game to play! Seeing the tiny creatures moving around and finding their places is surprisingly enjoyable itself!

Adding sounds and more enemy types will make the gameplay more interesting. I felt the 1-2 first levels were the most challenging ones and wouldn't have mind if the game is more difficult. This might keep the player more hooked and play more and try different upgrades.

Great game for a jam!

What a cool idea. I love how it fits into the theme. My only issue was after a few waves I became too big to fail, but it was still really fun once I got there. Overall great work, this was a fantastic entry.

Love the concept and the cohesion of the art! I think the balance is a bit on the easy side though (especially in the late game)—if that's adjusted, this could be a really great! This is one of the better games I've tried from the jam so far.

Love the minimalist art style! The animations and color palette make it feel polished despite the simplicity. The upgrade options add a lot of variety. I appreciate the distinction between upgrading current vs future creatures. Especially early on, it makes the choices more interesting and impactful. Great job!

Nice game, but the strategy is always the same at each level: try to pack all the enemies in the same place, then turn around them.

Cool minimalist game, well done. A bit hard, I've sinned by overconfidence x)
