Animalia Memories is a short psx inspired horror/walking sim.

The lore of the game was inspired by the theme as well as some of the level design choices.

This is my first game jam, and first "completed" game project ever!

Enjoy, and please give feedback!

I loved the atmosphere of this one! You did a great job creating suspense through the visuals and audio. Establishing the context through a training-style video at the beginning was a fun idea, too. In terms of gameplay it's nothing crazy, but I enjoyed it just as a way to fully experience the vibe you constructed. The ending was great and surprisingly poignant. I wish a little that there was slightly more payoff for the suspense in the middle, even if it was just talking to the NPC one more time, but regardless I enjoyed the experience. Well done!

The video is well-made! And the fox is stylish. But the gameplay is a bit boring. And the cat is WEARING BOOTS judging by the sounds

I did really like playing a more slow and atmospheric game. Also, loved the cat! ![Captura de pantalla 2025-04-10 090948.png](///raw/a23/f2/z/6bdae.png)

I finished and it reminded me a lot of the classic Slender game!![Captura de pantalla 2025-04-10 091702.png](///raw/a23/f2/z/6bdaf.png)

That was one of the best jam entries I've played when it comes to mood, and the initial corridor with the TV set it up SO WELL! I really liked it, my only issue was drawing too many comparisons to Slender at the memory collection part and being too scared to follow the sound on the final one. Really good job!

The video at the beginning is very well done. The atmosphere is creepy, I really liked it. I played through twice, because in the end I couldn't go through the platforming and fell into the abyss. Is it possible to reach the end there and will there be a different ending?

This game is really interesting ! The graphics and music really set the right scary atmosphere. I also think that the tv video in the beginning of the game was really atmospheric.

This was really cool! I liked the ambiance in total, and I thought the video at the beginning was pretty well-made to increase the scary factor! Especially how in the end platforming section, the audio got scarier and more intense... very well done!

For some constructive feedback: I felt like the footstep sound effects could be more frequent, since the player moves at a relatively fast pace. It didn't seem like there was any danger while collecting memories, so to make the player a little more creeped out, you could have an array of spooky sfx that play at random times behind the player? Also; it seems like when collecting memories, this is the sequence: click to collect, physical object disappears, sound plays, light source disappears. If it's a code thing, you could have the light source disappear at the same time as the object, then have the sound play. If it's a rendering thing, you might have to look more into that.

Overall, very fun, very spooky!
