The Tomb by Jacksendary

[raw]
made by Jacksendary for LD36 (JAM)
You are a archaeologist trying to find the hidden artifact in the tomb...
Try to find the artifact and get out of there before something comes after you.

With an ancient artifact orb, which seems to be imbued with some sort of essence of the wielder, and the power to reveal the secrets of the ancient tomb, you set out on a randomized adventure of tomb plundering.

Control your character, watch out for monsters and traps in the ancient tomb and find the ancient staff of Anubis and flee while you can.

CONTROLS:
Move with wasd (or arrow keys)
Use shift for running, (but you will get exhausted - look at your orb).
Use left mouse button to shoot out a navigation orb from your artifact.
ESC (Escape) to exit game.

Please note that the WebGL build have some image/lightning glitches and that mac/linux builds are untested.

It really is to dark torch would give more light. Also Enemy right on beginning where player tries to learn wtf is going on is rather bad reexperience.

I spawned on top of some spikes, but other than I don't think I found any bugs. Beat it after a few tries, but I'm not sure if I just got lucky. Art/textures were good, the bricks on the floor are particularly nice. Would be scarier if the lighting fell off all the way (so you couldn't see all the way to end of a hallway). Genuinely creepy. Good job.

I went with the web version, because I don't know what to do with a .7z file. I think it ran correctly, although it was very dark and I never got attacked by anything. I just got lost a lot...

Also I'm not sure if I'm using the exact same torches as you, or they all just look alike. :)

WebGL version worked fine for me and I used the age-old method of always tracing the left wall, found a skull wand but then got clobbered by some pharaoh-beast. Not bad, but consider that if 2 of your screenshots are essentially black rectangles then your game is too dark ;)
