Defend your castle against hordes of villains!

They are many, they are angry, but luckily Uchtulus the Wizard has given you the Sacred Power of Booster Opening! Your intention is clear, open as many boosters as possible to collect spell cards and build the ultimate deck to defend your position!

A nervous deck-builder action-defense game where you must think fast to use spells to your best advantage, and choose strategically what card will join your deck next!

How to play

Booster Buster is an action game. As you defend your castle, you must think accordingly to optimise your spells' effects: * Target chest goblins, they will give you new cards! * Find rare and high-level cards, the rarer the better! * Use spells to regroup enemies before finishing them with area effects! * Some enemies will pollute your deck with useless sleep cards! * Destroy your weakest spells to keep your deck clean! * Always watch your mana and remaining cards! You may have no time later to reshuffle your deck...

Neat game. I played it longer than I planned. It plays well and I like the art style and mechanics. The ray took me a while to use properly , but everything else was easy to understand. Good job.

@runningopenloop Actually you can! It's the red torches on the right! That means that we may have to make it clearer, at least in a description of the game:)
Thanks for the feedback!

@jonasolsson I am working on a mobile build! Currently it works with the WebGL version on mobile but it is cropped on the sides...

Wow, I was pleasantly surprised by this one :) Maybe it is something pretty standard in this genre, but I've never played a deckbuilder with this type of line defense. It is engaging, it is pretty well made and even properly visualy juiced! Thank you for the game and take care!

Loved the cute art for the game! Gameplay i like the idea a lot, but it can get a little too hectic and this hinders a bit the strategy part of the game, i could totally see this work as a complete game tho, great idea!

Wow! That’s amazing, using trendy card mechanics like those in Balatro to fend off a horde of enemies. It also reminds me of Plants vs. Zombies. Every aspect stands out and comes together beautifully, making for a well-rounded game. Congratulations, great game!

Nice twist on deck building games. It very easily gets out of hand for the player. Pretty engaging visually and gameplaywise. It could use some sound effects though for opening a pack, clicking on a chest, and playing cards but the game is very simple and difficult. The interface is well thought out.

Nice! I really like/hate that resetting the deck takes time. The animation is wonderful, but ahhhh I need a card ahhh. I like it . I really like how intuitive it is too. Very nice.

Nice game. Reset card took me a second to now how it works. But other than that, a polished game with nice graphics. Good job.

A really well-made game. I really enjoyed it, replayed it quite a lot and it took me some time to get a grip on it. The graphics look consistent and the audio works very well.

The gameplay works well, though I'd like to have some sort of idea on how much area a given spell works on. It also seems that quite a lot depends on the RNG. If you're able to keep a fairly small deck of high-level fire spells, it generally is easier to keep the enemies at bay.

I'v had fun playing, congrats on the entry!

Awesome, great work putting together a fun gameplay loop with a bunch of different card mechanics. It got to a speed where I was struggling to keep up pretty fast, but fun none the less!

Neat concept! I like the deck builder aspect because it's familiar, but making it realtime was a cool twist. The pixel art was really nice, and the pacing was pretty good! Such a cool idea. Great game!

I was not prepared for how much I enjoyed this game! Graphics are a great version of that style of visual, and the overall flow of the game felt tight. The music was fun and didn't get repetitive (even though it was repeating), and the mechanic for using the cards was very engaging - lots of 'just one more turn'-itis with it. I wasn't totally clear how to advance and build the deck up, but using the cards to stave off the creatures' incursion was a lot of fun, and I'd be willing to play a more fleshed-out version of this game for more time than I'd like to admit. Well done!

Very good entry in all aspects. A bit too difficult maybe but really I don't see any other real problem with it. It would be a bit easier if you could cast spells while the deck and discard are shuffling, when you kept some spells in hand.
