Spacelot by Pixeye
Spacelot is our first entry to ludumdare : ) We haven't finished everything by time. It's more technical demo than finished game.
The plot :
The Earth was destroyed by the *EVIL* robots from the space. You travel on the unfinished cruiser and searching place for your new home. Inspired by Battlestar Galactica and star control.
The mechanics :
There are few planets connected randomly with paths you travel. You can visit planet to mine some ore and build up new modules to your ship. But there is a risk that you will get in fight with some agressive robots willing to exterminate any life forms.
Ships in the game are module based. You can't get new hull pieces but you can repair them ( in future ) and build up useful modules on that pieces ( like guns, engines, shields, lasers and so on.
All hull pieces are connected to the BRIDGE piece. If they lose that connection they get destroyed, so you can lose half of the ship easily if you don't figure out how to protect
This rule works for the enemies as well.

Some improvement ideas: Keep lock on your last targets (often firing at the same thing) Move modules, other events. (not every encounter is combat?)
