Thunderbolts and Lightning by Ithildin
Introduction
*OMG!! A heavy thunderstorm has caused a power outage, and it seems that it'll take longer than usual! How will you charge your smartphones? Will this be the end of civilization as we know it?
Luckily you guys keep a backup generator that will let you enjoy that crappy TV show for a bit longer...provided that you won't go overboard wasting power. Will you be able to keep your middle-class family happy and healthy until electricity is back, or will the generator run out of power?
The game was intended as a FTL-like crew manager, set in some random house of a random 21st century power-dependent family. You basically need to monitor each character's needs and keep track of the resource consumption (most importantly, power).*
This would have been the pitch, more or less, if I'd managed to finish in time.
My original goal was for this to be a compo entry, but to say I wildly underestimated the scope of the game would also be an understatement. Had to slip to Jam, and despite all the work I'm not happy enough with the result this time to properly submit it.
If you still feel like taking a look at the game, BEWARE of flashing lights if you suffer from epilepsy!
* Current version controls *
- Basically, click on a character and then on a piece of furniture. Interactive items will appear coloured.
- Click on empty spaces to switch lights on/off. They will impact on the generator load, so its power will deplete faster

Also I love the house, I wish I could live there, but it looks strange a bathroom with only a bath? What was thinking the architect?!
Great idea to add a Reset button.
Besides that, I don't understand how to play. Power gets down, family get ill, they sleep, the heavy rain... it is distressing!
You have to finish the game to be able to save the family!

@julian-perez Thanks! Well, I decided to simplify a bit the house plan to limit the number of activities per room. And you're totally in point about finishing the game. I will definitely try to!
The idea would be that by balancing all the needs (by taking characters from place to place), and ensuring you won't run out of power (or, if you do, do so just before finishing the game, I guess) you'd be able to keep their health/mood in good state before the electricity is restored. That would be the win condition, but I like to think of the opposite situation, where one or all of the characters lose their minds and it is all back to prehistory again.
Too bad you could not finish it in time :(
But don't worry, underestimate the size of a project (specially for a jam) is something that has happened to us all. Better luck in the next LD!
PD: I hope to play the complete version of the game someday!
