Marsacre by ThorPalsson
Heretics have taken refuge far away and have started sending heretical signals back to earth. The church will not let this happen. They have sent you, Father Pain to eradicate the heretics and the god they worship.

The humor and aesthetic design is VERY memorable but the problem is, if you don't have a gameplay hook that's interesting in any capacity you'd better be prepared to have an extremely consistently funny game, or players wont bother sticking around to beat the 2nd level that plays pretty much the same as the first, UNLESS you are keeping the humor up WHILE the gameplay is happening. Even then that's tough and games that do it well, like "High on Life" for example, still struggle to keep players playing to the end, because the gameplay just doesn't hold player attention.
Anyways, I guess to summarize: if your goal was to create a funny, aesthetically interesting game, then well shit I played the game because the thumbnail looked cool and I definitely laughed at the hamster facecam so mission accomplished 😂
This game is the exact opposite of the one we made, but it was also my favourite. Shout out to the artists and the musician, the rat (?) on the radio literally spoke to me.
I'm a really fun of PSX graphics style and old-school shooters, so I've had a great time playing your game)
