Third Move by Rudenko

[raw]
made by Rudenko for Ludum Dare 59 (JAM)

Hello, I made a little turn-based roguelike game for this jam.
You’re a radar operator staring at an empty grid. The enemies are completely invisible, and every time you take one action, they all make their move too. So if you scanned something in the top-left corner last turn? It’s probably not there anymore.
Thanks for playing!game-260421-044350-720.gif

This was a really fun play, and my first roguelike. I made it to stage 11 before running out of tools.

Fun guessing game! I wish there would be detailed explanation of each tool cause I've mistaken x strike and lattice as two strike tools with same X shape.

Very good game! The gameplay pulled me in and kept me engaged. I may have missed something, but I still don't know what some colors and shapes(like square with empty center, or darker green square) mean. I would love it if there was a page somewhere that told me what all of the different indicators mean.

That was definitely interesting, it felt like more advanced battleships.

I reached 8 stage. I'm not sure if the problem is with my understanding of a game but it sometimes felt like I have not much of a choice and I just need to hope that enemies will be there where I'm shooting. Nonetheless I liked the simple graphics and variety of skills. But after some time I needed to turn off music, it was too repetitive for me.

Really fun game, although I wish the mechanics were explained, I never quite figured out how some of the tools worked or what the different colors in the grid meant.

Could spend hours playing this, well done. Got a bit stuck trying to figure out the exact movement patterns and behaviors of some of the enemies in the later stages but did get there in the end. Great game well done.

Cool mechanic! I got sometimes a bit confused how the targets can move, but was a fun game! I liked the upgrate system. The graphics and the nice music also were a good fit.

Super cool idea. Sadly it fell a bit flat for me because I didnt feel like i could survive past wave 11, simply because I wasnt able to understand all the mechanics exactly. A little tutorial would have gone a loooong way. Felt like it had a lot of potential though and i still had quite a bit of fun :3

This is so much fun! This feels like it would fit right in as a UFO50 game. I died on stage 11 which it seems like a lot of other people did. I tried just getting a lot of scanning tools rather than weapons, which was my downfall. There were so many enemies on that level that even with a 4x4 cannon it wasn't enough. Super great work! Hopefully you get rated in time because this has gotta be one of my favorites!

Thanks alot for the feedback! Yes definitely need to balance it better, I was thinking about different game ideas about two days and almost gave up. But I get myself together and did it basically in one day. Thanks a ton for make this game rated, I really appreciate it!
