Pulse Rescue by Soul Grinder

[raw]
made by Soul Grinder for Ludum Dare 59 (JAM)

In this game you must follow the signal to find a spaceship that has crashed into a large asteroid and rescue all 3 crew members by also following a signal whilst exploring the crashed ship on-foot.

There are also 8 language options: British, American, Spanish, Polish, French, Italian, German and Russian. (I know British and American are almost identical but there are a couple of words that are different, lol)

I created this within 72 hours for Ludum Dare 59 game jam. The theme was "Signal".

Hope you enjoy the game! Console4b.jpg PRScreenshot4.jpg PRScreenshot3.jpg PRScreenshot6.jpg PRScreenshot2.jpg PR_Screenshot1.jpg

Very cool, and you did it alone! The mood is here. There is even some cinematographic intention, it's appreciated. I was just chilling in my spaceship, the music was fitting, good feeling. The signal sound became a bit annoying at the end.

I really liked the smooth controls of the spacecraft. Flying through the asteroids gave a good bit of that space pilot fantasy. Took me a bit to figure out that I had to land on the top of the stranded ship to enter it. Great fit with the theme. Cheers!

To be honest, I tried to crash into an asteroid.

Controls are good, if the game is polished with more mechanics and good art, this game will be fun.
Try my game - 2d version of similar idea. Drone finding signal :)

Don't know if its intended but reminds me a lot of Elite Dangerous. I like the gameplay although I'd appreciate if we could have the signal distance remain active on the corner. Nice entry

The game is good, but it’s a shame it’s a bit too linear. It would have been nice to have three ships on the map, or to have ships positioned in tricky spots to make maneuvering more challenging. There’s a lot of potential for great things in this game. But the foundation is excellent for a Game Jam, well done!

I made it to the end, good job, Impressive that you completed a full gameplay loop all by yourself. keep up the work :-)

I loved the way the game balanced the open exploration of space with the confined suspense of the wrecked ship. That contrast really made the signal tracking feel critical and urgent. Amazing job completing a full, polished experience like this in such a short time!

There was really alot in this game. The atmosphere was great with all the different music clips. I was sure I was in for a horror twist when exploring the space ship. Really well done, especially with the mood and theme.

Great atmosphere/mood in the game. The signal update cycle was a little slow for me making it a little difficult to find the origin.

i love the atmosphere but the time between signals made it hard to find where it was coming from

Respect for choosing the language on the main menu. The music was perfect for the game. I finished the game, but never saw any aliens 😢

Really cool game! I love the ambient background music. I did have an issue where it got stuck in a loop during the tutorial, I've uploaded a screenshot of the part I'm referencing to this. Good work!![Screenshot 2026-04-23 at 6.26.38 PM.png](///raw/513/d4/z/72850.png)

@mostlikely thanks for playing. I just tested that part and found what the problem was, you'll be initiating the NPC conversation after the chat is done. It's my fault though, there is no delay to being able to chat to him once he's finished and if you press space when he is finished (which isn't that obvious), it will just start the conversation again

Found the source of the signal but never figured out how to progress from there.

@voxar thanks for playing, sorry you got stuck. you just need to fly to the hole in the top of the ship. I was going to make animated arrows for it but ran out of time lol. I made a short video where you can see the how the ship docks to the wrecked ship https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_vOBy92_k6M

Great game! The controls were good, general vibe and atmosphere was great. A nice series of game loops that tie together well. Only things of note were the distance to signal fading in and out meant it wasn't always clear if I was going the right way, and in such cases I just stopped moving; the other being the camera height for the character felt short, but nothing major.

Neat concept! I think maybe it'd be nice to have some kind of directionality to know where the signals were coming from? I found myself just searching round the whole ship anyway, since I didn't see the distance enough for it to matter to me finding anything. I managed to find everyone though!

@fadingdreamstories @jynxaudio Thanks for playing and leaving feedback, and glad you enjoyed it! Yeh I agree, in hindsight I should of had the signal remain visible instead of fading in and out. As you get closer it becomes more frequent but it's better to know how far away you are at all times.

This was a really cool game. the fact it has in engine cutscenes is very impressive. Really like the tone that was set, very retro horror kind of vibe. if there was an entity on the crashed ship that had to be avoided that would have made it perfect. Honestly though, really cool entry, fantastic job. Also as a side note, I really dug the guitar riffs. Kind of felt like old school command and conquer sounds with I very much appreciate.

Cute game. The signal concept is a bit simple but works. Got some minor suggestions for the controls: The rotation in the spacecraft with the mouse is a bit slow. Also Fly Up and Fly Down could have been on Space and Ctrl (in addition to R and F).

The story is awesome (and a little scary at the same time, not gonna lie). I like that you put some effort in creating some effects, models and some transitions between scenes. The audio intensifies the story. What I would change is the mouse sensitivity: had to manually lower the cursor speed to play it properly. Overall, good job!

I'm not sure if it's just my mouse sensitivity but I really struggled with camera controls, otherwise it was pretty smooth! I like that you have the language options (: The atmosphere spooked me a bit but overall it was fun to exist in space. Great work!
