Super Space Rescue Game by ofoof

[raw]
made by ofoof for Ludum Dare 59 (JAM)

Play as a space rescuer who searches for rescue beacons. Find stranded space explorers in need of rescue amidst a dangerous ship infested with aliens, by using the signal from your radar. Try to save as many humans as you can while time remains.

Rack up points based on how many people you can save, and try to not get killed by sneaky aliens.

Use WASD to walk, left click to shoot, right click to reload. Objectives will auto trigger based on distance Find humans, and then make it back to the extraction point to get out safely.

This game was made with a team of 4 people, only 1 other one has a ludum dare account at the time of writing (now it is 2). I'll definitely see if I can make them make one so that voting goes quicker. All the assets were also created by them. Hooray! This was my second jam completed after a total of now 4 jams I have attempted to join, so it feels good to get another one completed.

-15 minutes after jam- new build release because I had the viewport settings configured wrong soz -next day- ADDED WEB SUPPORT YEAY

It seems like the zip build might be broken — nothing happens for me :(

You may need to update the game again. It opens, but I only see something in space with a radar and numbers on screen. No buttons move or react to anything. I'll have to check on this later.

Fyi I'm getting a 404 not found on the download, you might need to reupload or put it on itch

Sorry to say, but it’s almost impossible to make an HTML5 version from a C# Godot project. If you want Web version choose gdscript next time :)

There is no web version. I can'T rate it because I don't download anything. There aren't even screenshots or videos. Sorry.

A very easy-to-understand mini-game, but it seems there's no restart button after the character dies🧐

A good game with simple but fairly polished gameplay. The only thing I really felt was missing was audio. Overall, it’s pleasant to play.

Those roaches were really good at sneaking up on you.
Nice creepy vibes even without music, though shooting sound could have been better.
I would have liked a reload button, and a restart option on the death screen would have been useful.
I played through three levels before stopping once I got the hang of it. I determined the slimes were not worth shooting at.

The game felt a little raw, but I liked the mood that the light mechanics set. The cone of light could have gone a little further though, as now it seemed I got sucker-punched by the roaches.

I liked it, it feels like the foundation for something that could get really interesting with some different kinds of ships, routes, and listeners. At first I was thinking that being near the planets would be the best way to get listeners, but the red rings helped and I figured out what I was supposed to be doing. One thing is that I was hoping I could upgrade the range on one of the ships I'd already relay'd but it seemed like installing it again didn't do anything.
