B.O.B.O by miles2099

This is a lighthearted, cute, and simple little game. Hope you have fun!❤️❤️❤️
Story 👽
BOBO, an adorable little alien, was forced to crash-land on Earth after his UFO took some heavy damage. To stay under the
radar, it disguised itself as a cow and snuck into a nearby farm. Little did it know, the farmer here is a total slave-driver!
Please help BOBO find the right frequency signal to get home amidst this absurd life of "animal drudgery"...

Gameplay 🎮
Grid Adventure: Advance through 16 farm tiles. Don't forget to stop and collect those key items!
Random Signal: BOBO’s movement distance depends on the strength of the signal you pull .(Maximum of 3)
Wacky Items: Try out the "Signal-Boosting Pressure Cooker" and the "cow-orker" Energy Drink!
Endings: Reaching the finish line triggers an ending. Collecting more items might lead to a little surprise!

Control ⌨️
1.E Key: Pull a random signal strength.
2.Left Mouse Button: Click items / Toggle dialogue.

theme ✍️
We tried to merge the theme "Signal" with traditional dice-rolling mechanics, reflecting it in our movement, collection, story goals, and item design. Beyond the jam theme, we also hold cuteness, humor, and "anti-exploitation" as our game’s creed. It’s been a very interesting experiment!
team 🥳
Programmer: Rinnnzy, Astrid Cloud (Warriors who suffered through Visual Studio's refusal to connect to Git)
Artist: 22_nijyuuni, vainsh (The proud "Moms" of BOBO and the little cow)
Designer: miles2099 (The Useless One)
A Final Word
This was an incredible collaborative experience. Everyone on the team is so full of ideas, talent, and humor. As the game slowly took shape and we watched BOBO start moving on the screen, we were all deeply moved. This project is the result of our full hearts and souls over the past 72 hours. We hope BOBO’s unlucky encounter brings a little joy to your day. If you like the story, please leave us a review and a rating—it’s honestly more helpful than our broken Git connection!
Thanks!

This is insanely good—why is BOBO so cute…
The art is super refined, the style is irresistibly adorable, and the sound effects and BGM are all fully fleshed out. The gameplay builds on a Monopoly-like foundation while fitting the theme nicely and adding its own twist. The settings menu and UI interactions are all there and feel complete. The length is perfect for a game jam, though personally I just wanted more QAQ.
Honestly, it’s hard to find any real flaws. If I had to nitpick, swapping the “Start” and “Exit” buttons on the main menu might help—I almost instinctively clicked the wrong one and quit the game lol.
(Unexceptedly upload due to network problem and sorry about this!!!)
At first I had trouble closing the instruction window. It said to press E, though clicking the text with the mouse worked for me. (I played html on itch from mac, opera)
The core gameplay is very enjoyable. For a future version, I could imagine even more events and choices for Bobo, maybe obstacles, pests, or items to use. Great entry overall, very polished and satisfying to play!
Not sure what's going on, but I seem to be having an issue with the web build (Chrome on macOS). The buttons don't line up with where I'm pressing either.
My only complain is that I played the game twice, and both times it crashed after I completed a lap on the board and saw the dialog. Or is it the end? Either way, I enjoyed both my playthrough, well done!
the game opens in the bottom left corner, but works fine in fullscreen. when switching language, it wasn’t immediately clear how to return to the menu, and pressing esc just exited fullscreen (which… was still in the bottom left).
still, i managed to play and enjoyed it!
太萌了,等我小了我也要当外星人
By the way, there seems to be a bug in the browser version on Itch.io. After completing one full round, returning to the starting point and triggering the story cutscene will cause the game to freeze completely. The BGM stops, and no controls respond. I’m not sure if I’m the only one encountering this issue.
