The increasing level of difficulty makes this a well balanced entry that was designed with care. The added challenge of the number of mummies being dropped at an increased pace quickly over time was a nice touch, too. I guess my only nitpick would be the collision detection of the hooked ends of the rods - often, the mummies get caught in them and I have to wiggle them out. Overall, the game's concept is great!"}],"images":["ld36\/30014-acc6da07255a7451b28a65f36aa3efcc.jpg","ld36\/30014-a2db5aaf63dac308134acca9fa39b1d5.jpg","ld36\/30014-cab64d73db1025d05be92e46c04c9af2.jpg"],"links":[{"url":"https:\/\/dl.dropboxusercontent.com\/u\/45288084\/LD%2036\/index.html","text":"Web (Read note at top)"},{"url":"https:\/\/dl.dropboxusercontent.com\/u\/45288084\/LD%2036\/Ludum%20Dare%2036.exe","text":"Windows"},{"url":"https:\/\/dl.dropboxusercontent.com\/u\/45288084\/LD%2036\/MummyDrop%20-%20Source%20Code%20-%20Ludum%20Dare%2036.gmx.zip","text":"Source"}],"metadata":{"g_key":"729","g_author":"30014","g_event":"LD36","g_eventkey":"35","g_subevent":"COMPO","g_urlkey":"711","g_title":"MummyDrop","g_status":"UCHK1","g_place":"99999","g_commentcount":"5","g_site2_node_id":"0","g_hide":"N","g_has_icon":"Y","g_rqueue":"0","g_random":"0"},"nds":[],"node":null,"orig_images":["http:\/\/ludumdare.com\/compo\/wp-content\/compo2\/\/570486\/30014-shot0-1472432288.png-eq-900-500.jpg","http:\/\/ludumdare.com\/compo\/wp-content\/compo2\/\/570486\/30014-shot1-1472435534.png-eq-900-500.jpg","http:\/\/ludumdare.com\/compo\/wp-content\/compo2\/\/570486\/30014-shot2-1472435534.png-eq-900-500.jpg"],"text":"-----\r\nIMPORTANT NOTE: The web version of this game has been tested for Chrome and Firefox, but there were some minor issues, including a weird positioning issue with how HTML5 handles physics (if mummies aren't sliding down smooth slopes, this is the reason). If you have any of these issues, please download the Windows binary for the smoothest experience!\r\n----- \r\n\r\nMummyDrop: The Great Sarcophagus Sorter!\r\n\r\nMummyDrop is a physics arcade game that requires quick reflexes and planning. Your objective is to sort the different colored sarcophagi into the correct tombs by creating a path for them to drop through using a series of levers.\r\n\r\nControls:\r\nClick on the canes to toggle their direction\r\nClick\/Right Click and drag to pan camera (also works with WASD or Arrow keys)\r\nMousewheel to zoom in\/out (middle mouse resets zoom)\r\nSpace bar toggles ALL canes simultaneously (only for the brave!)\r\n\r\nFeatures:\r\n- Mummies!\r\n- 5 levels with increasing difficulty!\r\n- In-game instructions!\r\n- A questionable take on Egyptian history!\r\n\r\nAdditional Controls:\r\nF2 - Small screen mode \r\nF4 - Close game (Windows version)\r\nM - Toggle optional mumbley sound effects\r\n\r\nMummyDrop was made by Evan Good for LD 36: \"Ancient Technology\". This is my fifth LD entry. Ancient Technology seemed like a pretty wide-open theme, but as I'm sure many people did, I immediately started thinking about Ancient Egypt and wanted to dream up some fantasy machinery for that era. As for the game type, I had a memory of a similar \"peg\" game that I built out of wooden dowels and ping pong balls with my brother when I was young. From Plinko to Peggle, I've always liked those sorts of games, so I decided to fit a new one into the theme!.. In as silly of a way as I could come up with.\r\n\r\nMummyDrop was developed using the following tools\/resources:\r\nGameMaker Studio Pro 1.4 (with HTML5 export)\r\nBFXR sound generator\r\nAudacity audio editor\r\nMSPaint (for that professional touch)\r\n\r\nNo pre-existing art, code, or assets were used.\r\n\r\nGame features no Egyptian-based puns. They're b'Neith me.\r\n\r\nThanks for playing and congrats to all the other entries!\r\n\r\nDeclared Post-Dare Bugfixes:\r\n8-28-16- Had to redeploy all versions due to a potentially game-freezing bug when beating a level.","title":"MummyDrop"}
