Wool Street by acid

[raw]
made by acid for Ludum Dare 59 (JAM)

Wool Street is a cozy, fast-paced sheepdog management sim where you raise a thriving flock and outwit hungry wolves! Bark commands at your loyal sheepdog to herd sheep into the field, sell wool at the shear, or ship grown sheep to the market for cash. Each new wave of howling wolves brings fresh threats — so hire more pups, station guard dogs, expand your pasture, and even grab a rifle to scare the pack off. Can you build your fortune and retire in comfort before the wolves take it all?

Quite interesting game, it's easy to get a hang of it. A bit repetitive game loop but great for a game made in such a short time! +for the tutorial in the beginning

Nice concept! Cute doggo <3 I got immersed to it, it can be a little bit hard as the sheep can run away but overall good job!

This is an absolutely cool game! I spent half an hour in it and completed it. I really liked the way it was drawn and the mechanics of managing the sheep. The golden sheep made the mid-game much more interesting, as the value of each sheep and the cost of making mistakes increased. Placing guards in the corners is a great idea, as it really changes the gameplay visually and you try to place them as optimally as possible at the start of the game.

5/5 across the board. The only score that high I've given thus far. Truly, well done!

I repeatedly lost most of my sheep not to wolves but to them walking out of the top of the map. That was really frustrating bc I felt like I had little control that over the chaos that emerged near the Shear building :/
Other than that I really like this game. Very original and well executed.

Pretty neat little game, I enjoyed it. Really appreciated the tutorial, and thought the game as a whole was really well presented.

Interesting idea and nice art style but I bored in 10 minutes, don't like such games.

Nice work. The tutorial helped a lot, without it the game would have been a lot worse. Controls were easy, and the game was easy to get the hang of.

Great to see another animal game! Wonder if different terrain could present different challenges. Like cover in the trees. Or a river.

Did you have any method to the madness when you balanced the game with prices and such? I see your screenshot shows selling sheep for $5 to $10, but in the game it is $6 to $10.

I think you should be able to buy a pig who is super awesome at herding. :) My dogs ran the sheep off the edge a time or two.

Art and sound are great. Movement of puppy via mouse was a nice touch. I can't seem to figure out how to actually shear the sheep >_<

I really enjoyed the cozy yet frantic vibe of the game—the sheepdog management is super satisfying, and the constant threat of the wolves keeps the pacing tight. The visuals and the overall concept are top-notch for a jam project!

My only bit of feedback is regarding the balancing: it feels like you have to grind for quite a long time to afford the upgrades. It might be worth lowering the prices for the shop items or the new pups just a bit to keep the sense of progression moving faster. Other than that, the game is absolutely superb and very addictive. Great job and rated! 🐶🔫

Nice art and mood. 20 minutes passed very fast. Extra dogs, however, are redundant and create more chaos than order, by running into the herd and splitting it

Loved this game, got hooked on it. Played for 31 minutes, earned 3165 dollars, bought 32 sheep, lost 10 to the wolves, but retired grateful. Great work, awesome game loop and would be cool to see it expanded.

Very fun game! They handled the topic in a really cool way.
The controls feel a bit heavy, but the amount of work put into it is impressive.
I’m delighted!

A very cozy incremental game, with pleasant visuals and sound. The gameplay feels good too. My only small note is that the start feels a bit slow - for a jam, it might be better to show more of the content a little sooner. Still, it’s a very enjoyable game overall.

Cool game! Was pretty easy to pick up with the provided instructions.

I like incremental games, and having to micromanage the herd was a fun way to keep it engaging.
