Story :
This is the story of a frog who works as a lighthouse keeper. Having gone into town to recharge after a long stretch of work, she must find her way back to her lighthouse despite the weather.
The weather today is not kind to our little frog; rain and wind are accompanied by a thick fog that only the nearby fireflies can pierce.
Our adventurous frog, ready to return to work, will have to feel her way through these foggy surroundings to find enough fireflies to dispel the fog and ultimately relight her lighthouse so she can get back to work.

Gameplay :
Follow the signal to make the fog disappear and avoid traps
Controls :
- Move : WASD/ZQSD or Arrow keys
- Interact : Spacebar or Enter

I enjoyed the game's general mood and the simple controls that allowed me to just jump into the game. The obstacles and other game objects could have used higher contrast as light grey rocks can be difficult to see over light purple-ish ground.
Some of the tiles might have been bugged, like the one "force move down" tile that actually allowed me to just walk over it, but overall this a neat jam entry! :v_tone1:
I just wish it had more!! (well, and maybe in-built tutorial or hints)
Good job!
key blade frog made me laugth haha

It has really cute graphics and enjoyable gameplay. I enjoyed solving the puzzles and figuring out the details.
Super cute hand-drawn graphics :frog: :sparkles:
The puzzles are nice and satisfying, felt great to complete them!
I liked the gameplay mechanic, though it took me some time to understand how it works.
I think the game has a lot of potential, and I’d love to see it developed further.
I think it would have been nice, that whenever standing on the lightning bugs tile that it would zoom out to provide a bigger view of the map, rather than zooming back in and not having option to zoom back out.
Very charming game!
I love the signal theme implementation. Finding first fireflies were satisfying.
The chests were so confusing to me. I came here, read the comments, reread the description, couldn't get it... Finally I realised chests give you an "ability". It seems with the jump I have to collect it and immediately press space while facing the right way (the water). I think part of the confusion comes from the fact those are chests. Usually you expect to get items from those! Some explanation in Controls section of your page would be nice. I almost gave up there ;_;
A new area opened and I realized that while taking the jump ability, you maybe JUST need to face the right direction, w/o pressing space. You see, in that first area I tried pressing space while on top of the chest, thinking I am interacting with it, and that did nothing. Now it seems the main thing is to hold the right direction keys (out of WASD). Then again I tried jumping over the rock with jump abilities and it only worked on 3-4th try. I feel like I am still confused on the mechanics here.
Managed to make it to the end nonetheless! The final CG is soooo CUTE! ^v^/
Art is definitely my fav part of the game. Just found the mechanics a bit confusing. The sound was great too, very sweet and relaxing :)
I found the chests confusing though. At first I assumed I could pick something up there, or maybe I should find a key with the same icon to open them. I would suggest replacing them with something - maybe some "purple mist" for the confusion effect and like a trampoline for the thing that lets you jump further?
Also, a small thing, but I think I've found a bug with the arrows - - I was repeatedly able to just walk over this one - it seems to have like 25% chance of just turning the frog, but not moving it. I tried another 1 or 2 arrows and they worked find.
Nice puzzles, I would love more levels !
Audio was acting up, which is a shame. The overall vibe from audiovisuals strongly resembles Child of Light which is one of my favorite games. The puzzle mechanics took a while to figure out but they're pretty elegant. What's missing is SFX–and this is a general hint: stuffing a game with SFX makes it so much more alive.
The general art is nice, congrats on the end game screen :) And the music was greatly contributing to a soothing ambiance.
Congrats to the whole team !

For the "force move down" tile not moving you, this might have been because you got a "force" bonus (one of the 2 types of chests) which allows you to skip one push tile. But this isn't clear enough, we might rework it to be more clear when the voting ends
Keyblade frog was a request by me :p
Every frog at the end represents someone on the team, and since my discord pfp is sora with his keyblade we gave the little keyblade yo my frog!
We totally get the confusion, and we'll try to improve it later on
For the jump mechanic, you "only" need to walk over it, and it makes you jump 2 tiles in your current facing direction. What probably confused you (aside from the chest look) was that it's a big bugged currently and sometimes simple doesn't work :/
For the end screen, our two 2D artists collabed together to do it, so it's by both Setsu and Hana_GHST, you can find their socials on our itch.io page: https://egrassah.itch.io/frog
Though I don't believe they've filmed the process behind this screen :/
Nice entry! The art and music were beautiful, and I had fun working through how the abilities worked to let me solve the puzzles.
I think I had some technical issues with the audio - it sounded really crackly on my system (Chrome on Windows) but I just chalked it up to the rain. That rain may also have made the "jump" tile only sometimes fire, which caused me some confusion about some of the puzzles, but in the end with experimentation I was able to make everything work, and I didn't mind the excuse to spend a little extra time with the world!
It was a nice choice to have the game pretty zoomed in, the way you did. It played to the strengths of the art.
Nice job!
Congratulations! :frog:
