Gameplay Info:

Intergalactic Kebab-Hunger is a single-player first person 3D puzzle-adventure, where you play as a cat-dog shapeshifter and switch to uncover two different worlds' clues. As a cat you will be aiming to match a meow frequency of other cats you meet to fit in, and as a dog you will be "reading" yellow signals and getting a hint of an object that hides a secret passage or something useful.

Important Disclaimer:

Some technical issues are known, and we are very sorry... If you approach an interactive spot, but nothing happens, please try to back away, switch the cat-dog mode to dog and approach again, this should help.

If you fell into a room or through textures, please reload the build. If you don't hear sound, please reload the build as well, should help (we have sound).

Controls:

  • WASD — movement
  • Mouse movement — camera movement
  • Mouse scroll/E — Cat-dog mode switch

Cat mode — talk to other cats, matching the wave of their meow. If waves look squarish — check if you are a cat, cats don't want to talk to dogs

Dog mode — uncover secret yellow signs, solve a puzzle and get a clue. After puzzle is solved, the correct object is highlighted in the world.

About the Game:

The only way how the planet Earth outdid the rest of the Universe is by inventing kebab — the most balanced and well nourishing meal one can ever imagine. A small planet of mini-shapeshifters chose you to travel to the planet Earth and retrieve one majestic kebab to feed your whole nation for the next billion years. To keep discrete you will be using very size appropriate camouflage of these Earth things called "cats" and "dogs". Be careful — cats are told to be very territorial, if you meet one you have to prove yourself an ally recreating the sound “meow”. And dogs are friendly, be on the look out for clues where the kebab is hidden. Hurry, your nation depends on you!

It looks really cool. I enjoyed wandering around the level and made it over the tire, but then I started falling through the textures and couldn't find anything else. I couldn't quite finish it—judging by the screenshots, I got stuck right at the beginning!
I really felt the lack of "Cursor.lockState = CursorLockMode.Locked;" and a hotkey to switch between the cat and the dog. If this game were polished up a bit, I’d definitely love to play more.

Interesting feel, but unfortunately no intro and lack of clues give no understanding of what i am supposed to do. Pretty neat visuals and music, except for the green sky. Wish you got time to add some hints. Good try nonetheless, wish you luck next time!

This reminds me of Stray, with the cat gameplay. The setting and vibe are cool too. I tried both 1.0 and 1.4 to compare. The mouse issue does seem to be solved in 1.4 although the puzzle seems to have broken for me in that update. Would love to try it again once it's fixed. Just @ me and i'll give it a go

The overall mood of the game really comes through, and the music is great. I want to emphasize that the music is genuinely very good. The signal tuning mechanics are clear and easy to understand. The level feels atmospheric. It’s not entirely clear where to go after meeting the first cat, but I think that accomplishing this much in 3 days is already impressive!

It's a cool concept, but I still couldn't figure out where to go, so I ended up at a street with shops.

Kebab - stolen, Catdog - escaped, billions - fed (we shapeshifters don't talk about the other billions who looked at the majestic Kebab flying to the skies).

Somehow this short adventure reminded me of the "Arctic eggs" game, with the surrealistic environment and style. There is a couple of rough spots around the edges, but that's fine, given the tight deadline! Good job!

haha that funny, really fun idea, i liked how random it was, but it worked together. i liked the puzzle with the perspective. the controls were a bit clunky, really low sensitivity on touchpad on mac.

@alexey-bobrovskiy it's like in real life: you don't know where to go, so you just go into the nearest shopping center and sit there with coffee.

I loved how dreamlike the music and the environment are. The various issues with the game are unfotunate, but making this much in the span of a weekend is impressive in its own right.

I didn't quite understand how to solve the puzzle; the pieces didn't match.

Interesting mini-game with cats and the whole idea of the game :)

Lol, so excellent! Random kebab vibes and cats, what's not to like! I really liked your level design, and the meow and clue mechanics worked quite well. The music really added to the vibe. Obviously this could use some polish on geometry edge-cases, but I'm pretty sure you prioritized making the right bits excellent!

Interesting idea and really nice vibe, the atmosphere and music hit well. The signal tuning feels good and easy to get. I did get a bit lost at times and wasn’t sure where to go, some hints would help a lot. Overall a cool little experience with a unique feel!

Cute idea with the dog/cat switching! It would probably have had a stronger impact if the game was in third person. And there could be a bit more feedback when completing a puzzle. But overall a nice vibe and fun to explore

As soon as I entered, I was impressed by the atmosphere of the game - it was very immersive. However, the narrative aspect seemed a bit lacking. I felt that the game's completeness and depth were not as high, but it was highly playable! So, I think it has great potential and I'm really looking forward to the upcoming works!

The alley setting and the cats are adorable, but I can't figure out how to play the puzzle sections from the dog's perspective.

A delightful mix of mystery and humor. Exploring two perspectives in the same world works so well here. Definitely worth playing!!!

Hey guys really nice work! It remind me of Stray and I enjoy solving the little puzzle of meow meow language. It would feel more like a puzzle game if the visual clues the dog uncovers served as guides for the cat to find its way. I realized I was supposed to go there only after looking around and noticing a flash of light in a certain spot. I was originally expecting to find objects related to the puppy’s clues to uncover hidden paths. Overall, the atmosphere and gameplay are both fun! P.S. btw version 1.0 seems to get stuck on the first puzzle.
