Connection 2559 by csnxs
The year is 2559, and thanks to the advent of faster-than-light technologies, colonisation of the galaxy is well underway. Your faction has recently settled on two Earth-like planets, and now you have been tasked with establishing FTL communications between them. This involves deploying a chain of Communications Beacons between the worlds. Although these Comms Beacons are capable of FTL communications, they have a limited signal range, and cannot be deployed too close to or too far from another. Additionally, the space between them is hazardous, and many stellar dangers and rogue pilots are wanting to stop you.

My second LD game. I had an idea again, and I had the will to drag myself away from Tomodachi Life and make it. Yes, I still suck at naming things. Unfortunately there is no web version, I did not realise MonoGame doesn't support that until it was too late...

Regarding the game, it feels like a classic Shoot 'em up with a "signal" twist added on top. Visually, the game looks great, and the audio fits the space atmosphere well.
However, I found the balancing to be quite tough. The screen gets cluttered with debris very quickly, and the enemy waves are pretty relentless. I also struggled with the repair/healing mechanic; it didn't feel very clear how or when my hull was actually being fixed. It’s possible I’m just a bit of a scrub at this genre, but some clearer visual feedback for healing would help a lot!
It's a solid, classic game loop. With a bit more fine-tuning on the difficulty and feedback, it would be much smoother. Good job on the delivery!
I love asteroid type games, i made one a bit like this in the little big plannet 3 game creator many years ago (maybe 20?)
so many asteroids.
I salute the effort to make a phyics-based game for compo, I struggle even with 3 days at my disposal.
