Multiplayer Signal by mdotedot
As always I wanted to create a multiplayer game.
When friends join the game you can play together, but if there are no players you still can play alone.
Inspirated by the WORD, the signals are coming in from other players ...

I kind of understand the tutorial request. Maybe this video will help:

If you did get multiplayer working, I'm extremely impressed! As it is, I can't figure out what I'm supposed to be doing or how to play with others...
@richjbaron : Multiplayer is still working and I just now finished a session with a remote player, not sure who it was. Thank you for playing and commenting!
@timo5034 : I'm not sure if you were experiencing troubles, but the point is that you push the character that is similar to your own to the 'black'=hole character. That makes the path and 'completes' the level once all the characters in the level are gone. Thank you for playing and commenting!
@gaudy and @yueyao-wang : definitely! As soon as I had my girlfriend play it it was clear to me; alas the time .. but very good point!!! Thank you both for playing and commenting!
@tenthousandfireants : Glad you liked it. Thank you for playing and commenting!
I can see the vision you had but maybe you tried to fly just a smitch too close to the sun!
Sometimes I couldn't switch to another pawn (the character you control with the letter), so I was blocked and had to restart. Otherwise pretty cool :)
While I was writing this comment, I tried to replay the game but the map never loaded :/
Cool idea, it just needs a little bug fixing. Good job :)

@timo5034 : Thank you for your nice comments.
@stormsword : When there are (in-active) players in the level you can't switch to them. I already have a fix for that off-game. But thank you for the comments! And yeah : server had crashed! It is up again, and now I have to figure out what was causing that!
@dzejpi : Glad you played earlier because indeed the server crashed. My compliments on given the screenshot that helps! (Although I had the same :D) At least I should have made a screen to indicate that the server is down. That is going to be on the list of things to fix.
Everyone: Thank you for all the feedback; hopefully I get them fixed in the engine by next LD :D
What you have here is a small sokoban game with confusing levels. I finished the first but couldn't seem to move the letters in the second one.
@pres2300 : I tried to design the levels so that you always have a # where you can get to as a player but not with a character. Maybe if you put more characters in a square that you can get the situation what you are mentioning, but I cannot deduce that from your sentence. The third level with the numbers '4' in them might be another situation.
There were some nice puzzles and they were not overly complicated but just right. Although, just a bit difficult to initially get a grasp on due to lack of in-game explanations. I assume this to be a stylistic choice--but regardless, I liked the kind of abstract vibe this makes the game give off in combination with the art-style (object sprites, the audio, color scheme etc.) This certainly is a unique game in many aspects.
Though I believe I saw some of the same (or very similar) puzzles around the map--and perhaps this is so that same puzzles can be played by multiple parties simultaneously--considering the time limitation, I am pleased with the puzzle quality and variety, this is an interesting and fun puzzle game, thanks!
Anyway, it's very impressive to achieve a working multiplayer game during the Compo. Congrats!
Cool puzzles and a cool look but why do the rooms reset when you leave them? is that because of the multi player aspect? would be good if it reset when it was complete or eveyone left the game.
There's a good idea in here, and as others have said, it's impressive that you managed to get multiplayer working within the jam window, but unfortunately there are some bizarre design choices here that just sour the whole experience for me.
