In 2159, a solar flare hit the surface of Mars, destroying all satellite communication between the handful of colonies on the terraformed surface. As the ORFS UN initiative, you are tasked with reestablishing communication and building a new satellite network for a better future. The colonies of Mars depend on you. Godspeed.

Gameplay

Launch satellites and scan sites from Low Mars Orbit to reveal the surface of the planet. Earn funds with mining surveys, satellite imagery and communication relays to boost satellites into higher orbits. Restore communication with all colonies of Mars.

Sites

Craters: Scan craters using a satellite with a Mineral Scanner [MSE] from Low Mars Orbit or Medium Mars Orbit to periodically earn research funds.

Abandoned Sites: Photograph from Low Mars Orbit using a camera [CAM] to document the site and earn funds.

Colonies: Colonies need to be connected to the ORFS Home Base using satellite relays. Make sure that the satellites have the [COM] upgrade and line of sight of each other and the home base. A geostationary orbit can help establishing a reliable network.

A really cool game! I think a tutorial, in addition to the text boxes, would have been helpful for a better understanding. But very impressive for a jam game!

Wow, what a great game. I love space-based strategies. It would be good to be able to see orbits on a flat map.

love the space theme and the mapping of the orbits on the map. maybe i oversaw something but i always got confused which satellite is which would have like some highlighting in the list when i pressed on it in the 3d view. but that's just a minor detail, really solid game.

What a great game! The mechanics and concept are so much fun; space exploration games are truly entertaining. The art here is incredible; the blend of 3D and pixel art is very well done. My only criticism would be that the UI needs a bit more polish to be more visually appealing and improve the gameplay, especially regarding the typography xD. Great job!

It's an impressive entry! The amount of mechanics and polish for 72h of work is astonishing. It feels like the Mass Effect scanning mini game but pushed a bit further and I like that you even added geo-stationary satellites for communication purposes. It was also a nice touch to add the tutorial/onboarding texts to guide the player even if a more step-by-step approach could have helped understand all the concepts cause it can be a bit daunting at first. The aesthetics and music really give a unique mood of space discovery, I really enjoyed it.

Dropping a long over due comment here. Really appreciate you giving me the opportunity to play this game [on stream.](https://www.youtube.com/live/fCwnxSEAlQY?si=LrRxUJIU9A4uY6H2&t=270)

My thoughts are shared in the VOD. Hope we see you back for LD60. ✌
