SIGMOLE by knarf

Be a good mole and use:

  • arrow keys to move and dig
  • space to throw infrasounds signals and reveal darkness around you.

Dig your own safe labyrinth and grab some worms to get deeper ! Don't get exhausted digging, hitting rocks or get squashed by it ! and beware of other hasards !

Stuff is missing but who cares. Made for compo but an extra day to relax was cool (so ended in JAM section). Still buggy/unfinished so far.

Game engine/sprites:GMS 1.4 Sounds:BFXR Music: Reaper X Korg CR4 X Korg taktile 25. AI: It feels very good not "having to use it" for that whole LD weekend. In case there is any doubt 0% AI here, it's my own pleasure to piss blasphemous code and ruin notion of art by myself.

HTML may be even more buggythan .exe, .exe may be a virus, the world may end tomorrow, who knows, who cares.<3<3<3

There is no normal page description, a donation when downloading, and a license agreement when launching. What is this all about?!?!))

Thanks for feedback @alexander-stepanov @venomousmouse . I was tired & forgot to remove itch donation stuff and forgot to create executable rather than installer... Itch.io was even down at some point and honnestly just wanted to drop the file, hug my cat and sleep.

I've uploaded executable without installer(LD59_SIGMOLE_21_04_V02.exe).

I'll probably also upload html version & create git repo...

I've dug deep enough to get stage clear message. Nice digging game nonetheless, not sure where the signal them would be though.

Thanks for uploading a web version! It was fun to play it. I like the visuals and audio. Also good take on mechanics. Very nice game!

WHOA! I loved the music that got sometimes really crazy, and the art with the dithered distances views, and the quick-blink scan-ahead. The whole experience was kind of frenetic and the different aspects of the style of the game really fit so well together. And the experience itself is kind of crazy. Early on I understood some deaths: for example by digging under a boulder and having it drop on me. But it took me a bit to realize how the turn counter works, and that it's restored by worms, so after that I got a lot better.

Then I started to get copies of myself, and the game got REALLY nuts. Was I even supposed to get copies of myself at all? I wasn't totally sure but either way it was fun!

(EDIT: it's showing the image as broken not sure why! here's an imgur link https://imgur.com/DIg1Q03)

Eventually I managed to get four copies of myself to level 119 where it rains fruit all day and there's a boom box playing music and the whole path down is blocked off by boulders. Is that party scene considered victory?

But some of my past selves were still stuck on earlier levels, so we didn't all win.

Really enjoyed exploring this one. It was just the right amount of nuts.

Cool and unique entry!
