Module Overload
Made for Ludum Dare 59.
About
Module Overload is a fast-paced real-time strategy and reaction game about managing unstable systems under pressure. Keep multiple modules from spiraling out of control, survive wave after wave, and expand your layout with new modules and affixes. The current build features 9 module minigames and 15 affixes, letting each run evolve into a different high-pressure setup.
Core Hook
- Juggle multiple module-based minigames at the same time.
- Trigger Signal Overload to speed everything up when you need a burst of momentum.
Survive as long as possible while building a more chaotic and more powerful dashboard.
Controls
Mouse: interact with modules and UI
- Space: signal overload
- Esc: pause
- R: restart
- M: mute
How to Play
Download the build, unzip it, and run the executable.
This is my first time handling the code for a game. Thanks to Spiral for the amazing audio and for keeping me company throughout. It was an unforgettable adventure.

It might just be my personal flavor, but I find very few motivation to keep playing the game. The goal is to survive. But the "upgrades" I choose only makes it harder to survive. TBH, the moment I found out my effort is only for making my life harder I wanted to skip the upgrade, and I wanted to stop playing when I realized that I couldn't skip it QAQ. I think the game could benefit from adding some real positive feedbacks (in terms of gameplay mechanic).
Haha I love that rat too, my friend has collected a ton of memes/stickers of it lol
Your game is super immersive with all that voice acting!!
This is probably the best thing I've seen in this jam.
Great entry, congrats!
Thank you! Your game is really brain-teasing, tests my reflexes, and super relaxing all at the same time!
One suggestion would be to include hints on how to use new modules that you just bought on the modules themselves instead of in a text box on the left. You have to play very quickly and there is no time to read the text.
I really love your art style and game mood.
Thx for fun! Great job!
If anyone sees this, go check out their game [Tooth Fairy](https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/59/tooth-fairy)! The ending will totally catch you off guard! I just replayed it from the beginning!

Thanks! I really liked your team's game too! As for the cute little mouse, I’ve got a ton of its emotes haha. One of my programmer friends is really into it, so I’ve been collecting them everywhere haha! Thanks again for playing and for the review!
