Inner Signal by Gastar
Process your inner signals to say something appropriate!!
How to play:
- drag-n-drop nodes from Nodes section to Graph to create logic
- drag-n-drop from Out sockets to In sockets to connect nodes
- hold mouse middle button to pan and use scroll wheel to zoom
Tips:
- you can delete nodes
- you can unplug connections by dragging out the existing ones
- nodes can be positioned freely inside Graph

The choice of gates could have been better. For example, remove X last character is simply Reverse-> X Remove first -> Reverse. It is not essential.
While, I think I did not saw a way to loop or a conditionnal gate? So I had to chain the same gates several time. The problem was enhanced by playing only on 25 to 50% of the screen, it feels quickly a bit cramped.
I could not go past the first level as I had a stopping error "RuntimeError: function signature mismatch".
Quite interesting
However, I would also like to split words into letters, rather than adding 9 nodes to delete a character :)
Same as others, it crashes after the first level, but relaunching the game gave me a different sentence so I could try it again
It's a bit tedious to have to chain a lot of "remove character" to extract each letter to form a new word, I'd have like a way to remove all but first/last as well, or the ability to bump/lower a character value (a -> b or b -> a), so we could experiment with several way to solve it.
Still, it was fun :D
I did the first 2 levels and it felt quite tedious having to chain the same nodes multiple times. A loop would have been helpful. Also I think the first level could have been much simpler requiring way fewer nodes. For example changing a "i hate you" to "hi".
Friends, thank you so much for your feedback! We agree with everything you’ve said, and yes, we didn’t manage to do everything we wanted to.
If the game crashes, your progress should still be saved, so you can just reload the page and continue.
Random idea, but I was thinking it would be cool to see an experiment where the output would affect the game in some ways - for example if the player could build various answers and change where the conversation goes. I imagined aliens trying to communicate with humans from space or something along those lines...
Anyway, congrats on the game, it's a creative idea and well done fitting it in a jam.
Haha what a mess! I like the double theme interperetation of using signals between nodes, as well as sending signals in your messages. It was fun to try and find ways to duplicate words at the right time to minimize having to do yet another really long "remove first char" chain lol. This was fun.
I noticed the game crashes for me after pressing continue after a mission. But you implemented saving! Thank you!! I got to finish the game even with the crashes thanks to that. I really appreciate it.
Well done!
the game crashes a lot (at the end of every level for me) so I could not see the actual ending, but still could play through the 3 parts. I love the simplicity of the bricks but I feel that sometimes it just takes more bricks where it should be more difficult. Anyway great job and thanks for the experience!
In any case, definitely something I think could evolve into a really cool game! And the idea is very cool and creative -- I've never seen anything like it.
