McFoley's by braktheman

[raw]
made by braktheman for Ludum Dare 59 (JAM)

Welcome to your first week working at the brand new McFoley's startup, a state of the art fast food facility where robots manufacture all the food.

As a customer-facing foley artist, you will be tasked with taking orders and transmitting signals to the robotic team to craft the perfect order using only the power of your foley skills. Be the middle man you always dreamed of.

Make sure to read the manual daily as the restaurant evolves on the regular.

Play through five days in this short 10-15 minute experience.

For the best experience, play this one with the SOUND ON!

..and remember McFoley's values YOU!

April 27th - Fixed one small progression bug that could potentially break the game upon a second playthrough. Nothing was changed gameplay wise just forgot to reset a variable whoops!

The mouth sounds are music to my ears. The gameplay is well-balanced and the progression is fine as well. That’s a good game, considering you’re on your own. Congrats :)

It's quite fun, love the sounds! I wish I could control with keyboard shortcuts.

Lol this game is iconic. I satisfied 26 customers and earned a grand total of 7.95$

Thoughts
- The difficulty progression feels pretty good, love that when drinks are introduced that day only has drinks, for example
- would've been nice if we could see the food being assembled like in overcooked/cooking fever
- it would add more depth if there were timers on ingredients or maybe some interactions with them like chopping, mixing etc
- The tiny dollar amt at the end of each day is funny but hard to tell how well I did, which feels unmotivating. it would be nice if there was like a max salary/minimum salary shown or maybe like base rate + tips so I can understand how I'm being scored.

I'm a sound artist and did lots of folley for my game so loved the concept

The graphics are funny, but sound effects are the best. I can definitely see it being more chaotic if there were more (or more complex) manual pages.

Super funny! Love the setting, love the puns and the progression not to overwhelming at the start but it gets more challenging later on.

The maintanence fee taking most of your earnings is peak humor for me. I would prefer to have additional bindings for keys, but I also understand if it was a deliberate choice to make controls pretty clunky with just the mouse.

Really cute, though due to my personal biases it took me until the 4th customer to realize that all these psycopaths were ordering their burgers WITHOUT cheese. Also, what self-respecting establishment puts only ONE slice of cheese on a DOUBLE cheeseburger????

Great game!

I laughed so hard when I heard the sounds, this is amazing! Love the concept, I didn't notice the instructions at first (classic player...) and was trying to make burgers with cheese, and no one was having it :(( But then figured it out, had so much fun!

This was such a treat to play! I was worried at first that it would only have the first three recipes, but then it kept ramping it up each level in such a perfect way. I do kinda wish that the recipes at the end had a bit more variety to them in terms of gameplay, but for a jam this is fantastic. It has such a great feeling of mastery to it as you slowly get into the groove of things and memorize each of the recipes. It would have been nice to have an extra level at the end without adding another element in there just to let the player go loose now that they're comfortable with all the recipes. I do think it could also do with some sound effects or something to make getting a right order feel more satisfying. Other than all those very minor things, this was a lot of fun! Great work!

Really fun, McFoley's got a laugh outta me and once I figured out the instruction book had multiple pages to flip through, I was having fun. The soda flavors got a real kick outta me, the humor landed well the whole way through. Great job!

A really fun game! The sounds in this game are simply the best part. As you try to complete as many items as possible, clicking on the items one after another creates a funny effect. This game even has its own vibe. It's really cool! :D

Actually really funny and fun to play. Good difficulty curve - I never felt like I was overwhelmed with too much new information at once. I was expecting orders to get more complicated with each person ordering burgers and drinks and sides.

Those mouthed sfx are incredible. After a few plays they stay in your head and you can still hear the sweet music of making the commands. Really funny entry, I had a good time with it!

Dropping a long over due comment here. Really appreciate you giving me the opportunity to play this game [on stream.](https://www.youtube.com/live/EVIN76_gvMg?si=JK2KQEx3p2n4uilf&t=16567)

My thoughts are shared in the VOD. Hope we see you back for LD60. ✌

I love cooking games, the audio was silly and I liked it. At first it was hard to figure out that it needed 2 buns but I got there! Nice work!
