Burry this… Thing by LeReveur

Burry this boring theme as far as you can. The tool is easy to understand, but not very easy to use : hit the circled key (or click on the button, but this is at your own risks) before the circle disappears.
You can start by hitting either F or H.
Click the /S button in the up-right corner (or hit S) if the music or sound bothers you.

I hate this kind of themes. I know I will test and rate very mostly the same two or three kind of games, but, much more, I knew I will be stuck a very long time finding any idea that would be fun to make, and in my skills. And I knew well : I finally had to make this troll game, or give up. I decided to make the game, this afternoon. Fortunately, it was short to make - about ten hours, including graphics and sound.

Even using two hands, I don't make really good scores…
Yes. This was not the first theme I didn't like at all. :laughing:
@traffle
Yes, I agree. As I started very very lately, I didn't take the time to polish the gameplay, and as a result, the gameplay is pretty awfull. And if you can go far enough, this is worst. By a lot. :sweat_smile:

Better stop here before I get addicted
Merci pour tes paroles très sympathiques lors de l'évaluation de mon projet. J'apprécie beaucoup. C'est aussi un grand plaisir pour moi de jouer tes jeux durant les LudumDare. Bonne copntinuation à toi ++

Well, the lot of messages I had for the past two years from the system said the same. But they didn't explain how to install Windows 10 on my twelve+ years old machine :wink:
(besides, I'm not downloading suspicious content, I'm using MB and some browser securing utilities, and for now, I still receive WD updates each day, so, I'm not *that* unsecure about viruses and malwares)
@kotzi
This is good to know that my little troll game pleased at least someone :laughing:
@stewthepoo
I absolutely didn't think about that, but this is an interesting idea. If I find enough motivation, I could try to make a version of my engine that can handle game controllers, and try to make this game working with it - and as I'm thinking about that, I may have an old PS2 dance pad and an adaptater somewhere… :thinking:
@marc-jones
I think that making a troll game is not incompatible with making an actual game :smile: - some LDs ago, I remember seeing someone with a troll entry, and I had think that he could have made an actual game with his concept, so, when it comes to me this session, I decided to make a real game, and not just a troll.
The last time I tried to make my javascript game working properly with mobile, it was a failure, so I didn't even test it this time :sweat_smile: - even if I intentionally placed the buttons on the sides of the screen (just in case)
About the background, as I said before :
> As the background image is not protected nor crypted in any way, it is possible to open it directly if you are curious, the relative path is readable directly in the code at the end of the index.html page : http://workshop.xenedon.com/LD48/assets/background.png
Music was surprisingly good for a simple game, and (like yourself) I wasn't super thrilled about the theme either, lol. Still, good entry!
And yet, surprisingly addictive...
I always think of the theme as a starting point for letting your imagination run free. There's countless times my game idea drifted far away from the theme, and if it's a good idea, I don't see any problem with letting that happen.
