Depths of the Library by Klaus Peter
Your grandpa asks you for a favor. He needs an important book from the library. Being the responsible person you are, you naturally want to help you grandpa. But that is easier said than done!
The library is an ancient building and the book in question is in one of the lowest floors.
The only way down is a rickity elevator and during the ride you have to avoid getting hit by debris!
Do you have what it takes to beat this challenge?

Thanks for the kind reviews!
It was the first for us to work together in a jam and the first for me time to create music and sound effects. So I really appreciate the positive feedback!
A jump animation could have been added, but otherwise nothing to say.
Well done !
However, the game was way too difficult. I think it needs a fair bit of balancing work, which I understand is hard to achieve in a game jam, so it's not something really important.
Good job!
Difficulty is fine as I died most of the time at around 75%, thanks to the progress indicator in the corner. So I knew I could win (otherwise I would have probably bailed).
You should probably include the controls in the game intro (and/or during gameplay). At first I missed the fact that you could left click to hit the spiders, which made the game way more difficult than it needed to be (but that's on me).
By the way, it doesn't work with adblockers because of a file named `hitbox.js` which is blocked. I think renaming the file should be enough to make it work.
Also, why can't I rate you on mood, graphics, etc?
And yeah, that with the rating categories was a mistake. It was quite late when I submitted and I must have accidentally opted out of everything :(
I tried to contact Mike already. I hope it can still be fixed
Other than that it's a nice short game.
Edit: Also, consider adding a key for attack as well as using the mouse.
From a design standpoint, I felt that attacking was a single-use mechanic, and could have been used for more. For example hitting books and globes out of the way. Another idea would be to have books actually pile up as they fall, requiring the player to hit them away off the platform. This would add another mechanic of difficulty. Perhaps built up books tilt the platform in a way that requires the player to clear them, lest the platform flip, or something.
Overall I think it was a fun little jam game!
Nice little game though. I liked the difficulty ramp up toward the end with the falling objects too.
