Sweet Dreams by LeHaine
Note: A full play-through on reaching and defeating the boss should take 3 minutes if you don't die. This was kept intentionally low for the game jam. The difficulty is relatively easy (I hope).
This is my first time participating in Ludum Dare! And my second game jam ever! I hope you all enjoy.

The tutorial billboard says to press "q" to shoot the slingshot instead of "f", just a little thing I noticed :)
I found a winning strategy where I can avoid all enemies by walking past them, and going back and forth with the slingshot. But it was really fun! The slingshot is really fun to use!
First had a little problem with WASD controls, and had to use arrow keys. The good news - arrow keys also work. The bad news - if you use them you can't really reach the Roll and shoot buttons comfortably. So I was relieved when I figured out why WASD were not working (wrong keyboard language selected).
The boss was little underwhelming. Maybe some variety of attacks would've helped.
Also love how the background changes as you go deeper into the nighmares.
I have a question. I looked and at your code and it is written on kotlin. And compiled into jar.
How do you upload your game for web? Is is possible to run java in web browser? (exсluding java applets)
(I never tryed write on kotlin, and don't know how it's related with java, but looks like you can compile it to jar)
@phoenix-gi Thanks for playing! Yes, it was written in Kotlin as a multiplatform project which can build to JS, JVM, Native, and mobile. I only built it for JS and the JVM.
Anyways, a great entry to LD48! Congrats for a job well done and Cheerz!
The music adds a nice touch
Good job, this is fantastic!
Just some small nit-picks because the combat system is very fluid an easy to understand, and the artwork is very cohesive, I especially like its caste-like aesthetic.
Then, I'll start with the negative stuff : the music doesn't loop. Nothing too harsh, that's just sad :( Then, you should have said in-game we can use Spacebar to jump (I though it was the Z/W key)
Positive stuff : an original way to match the theme! Some would say it is a bit off-topic, but it isn't : the deeper your sleep and the more fearful the foes, the harsher we go in the difficulty. Nice graphics, at first I found them too heavy, but that's not a problem since we can easily see the enemies.
I enjoyed the game overall! Not too easy, not too hard, challenging enough.
Good job!
Also i encountered bug when you change your keyboard layout from english to any other layout controls in game just stop working.
In anything else is just a great small game.

Видел я иногда страшные сны, да. Бывает. Лучше с ними сражаться, чем от них страдать, согласен!
Молодцы! ^_^
The controls are a bit awkward with so many buttons to use spread out, would probably be great with a controller!
Otherwise great game, good work!
real solid. I do think the slingshot was only really needed for the final boss~ (and even then could be done with dodging and melee) but even so, it was a great experience with solid polish on the controls. The ?bunnies? at the start were likely the hardest though, as their numbers eventually made it rather tricky :')
be v proud, its amazing <3
I'm unfortunatly really bad at these kind of games, soo my only hope to beat your game was to find out that if you continuosly walk left to right in the room, they can't hurt you. After 5 minutes I beat that cool looking nightmare! :D
The graphics are very well made!
