It's definitely not polished, but I enjoyed it. That little scope on the corner was a nice addition and when I saw that creature down in the bottom of the ocean I actually bit my tongue out of fear. So yeah, congrats on that. Also how dare you.

Interesting concept! It would be nice to get some feedback when clicking on the camera button. I couldn't tell if I was actually taking a picture.

The art style is very unique and kinda strange, but i liked it a lot! The music is relaxing too. I like the vibe of it, great job!

Definately high score on mood and theme. Lacks some polish, especially sound on taking picture and maybe alternative key for taking picture (Space) for WASD players.

I am a big fan of exploration games, and I really enjoyed playing *your* game. A little more different types of animals or just a bit more variation in how the different species look (e.g. different size/color) would have been nice, but obviously none of us have time to add to much content to our games within the jam time restrictions.
I just wish the light probes would travel a little slower, so I could follow them more easily.

Overall, it's a great entry though!

I tried hitting return to take pictures but it seemed nothing happened?
Other than that, controls seemed really nice. Graphics are good. Love the music.

Thank you all for your feedback! For me personally it was my first LD and I am really glad you enjoyed it. I completely agree with the game needing polish, and the controls sometimes unfairly punishes players. I'll try to tweak that these next few days!

@legolula don't worry about it. Congrats on completing your first LD! I love what you did with lightning, game is good for LD, but if you plan yo take it further i'd suggest to add more "game" into it. Great work dude!

I love the concept here, and the little sub-view in the corner's such a neat idea, if a little fiddly to get right. I'll agree with the consensus that it could use some polish, but what's there is a nice start. I liked how you could use the sub's own lights to navigate, in addition to the lights balls, and I liked the oppressive feeling as you dove deeper.

It's a nice concept and I really loved the music shift as you get to the deeper parts.

I really enjoyed this a lot! The way the waters get darker and the need for droppable lights makes the process of going deeper feel really immersive. It's one of the nicest ways I've seen the theme used! I also really appreciate gameplay like taking pictures, that is peaceful and exploratory. I think the game could have benefitted a lot from audio feedback - when a picture has been taken successfully, or when you are low on oxygen, etc, just to make the flow feel more fair!

@sam-machell Thanks for your detailed review ! We didn't thought about sound feedback, we wanting to go for a flash when a picture is taken but didn't have the time to had it in the end. Maybe we'll add these sound feedback ;)

@shaolin-dave Yes, until we add feedbacks the only way to find out if the picture was taken is to open the photobook ^^

A really great game the art design was really nice. A graphical helper on the screen would be nice to see where the camera would take the Picture

Really nice idea for a game. The instruction screens were a bit of information overload for me and it wasn't clear that I had to go over fish to see them, I was trying to point the nose of the submarine at them. A sound effect for taking pictures would be good as I wasn't sure the button was working.

The way you incorporated the first person perspective was really cool and this idea has a lot of potential. Great work.

Very cute, the tutorial was bit over the top flashy in my opinion but I loved that you could kind of see through the camera :D

Had a nice journey to the bottom and collected all poke-poke!

Pros:

- Audio-visuals makes the mood appropriate at certain depths. Overwhelming darkness below is a big +
- My first encounter with the big squid / octopus was terryfing as it was pointing legs towards me, so insta DeadSpace moments there
- Easy to control
- Properly scoped (not too long), good places to put in the oxygen support.
- Like the coral reef effect you tried there at certain ground levels!
- Exploration atmosphere is very much within the gameplay

Cons:

- Tutorial seems out-of-space graphic-wise and is overwhelming with information to the user. Perhaps in-game tutorial would be better!

Overall a great, properly-scoped entry. Had an enjoyable experience!
