Deeper get Deeper by maxi1324

Hi, this is my Game

Controls WASD and Mouse Space Jump(press it longer for an longer jump) shift for sprinting If you are on the ground you can get really really fast so horizontal movement is not a problem

Your Goal is to travel as far as you can.

The Levels are generated not hand made

When you finished one level you have to walk near this read object

Thanks for Playing :)

PS there are two types of levels

I´ve made a second version of the game, its just a bug fix. I don´t know if this is allowed, if not the old version is still Online

The Bug that i´ve fixed is the Camera Movement. Now it should be fast enough. It´s about 10 times faster now XD

Also there was a bug with the collisons. I didn´t fix it but if you press U while you are stuck, you can Escape. The last thing i´ve fixed was that sometimes the level reloaded but wrong.

PPS: if the level is impossible in the not falling levels, you can use a bug. When you are pressing Space you can make a higher jump, and you fall slower. This way you can fall deeper.

Also you can try to bounce on the wall this will also slow you down

Hi!

I have reviewed your game and, unfortunately, I will have criticism, not praise. Please don't take it personally, because I don't want to offend you. I appreciate your efforts, but let me be honest about what I'm experiencing. Maybe this will help you.

I don't quite understand what this game is for? What is the essence of it, what is the purpose?
I just fall down and that's it? Don't collect anything? I do not actually have any barriers to this, except for randomly placed platforms? I can fly about 10 platforms at a time and not get killed. Thus, in three jumps, I find myself at the bottom and nothing prevents me from doing it.

The level, which has rotating blades, looks much more interesting than those where you just need to jump on the platform. Focus on just such levels. They give the player a challenge, interest, and take your breath away if you work with them correctly.

And the most important thing I write about to almost everyone is why don't you make a menu button and exit the game? It's wildly inconvenient when it's not there.

@taigha thank you for your respond.

I know the game is bad i tried my best but the time was to short for me.
The fact that it is possible to jump far down is a bug, this shouldn´t be the case

So again thank you that you took the time to rate my Game :)

Hallo Maxi :)

I habe es gerade versucht und es ist auch nicht unspielbar allerdings habe ich ein paar Anmerkungen:
* sollte der Spieler sterben ist es immer gut kommunizieren warum er gerade gestorben ist. Nach ein paar Mal habe ich herausgefunden, dass man wohl nur eine Etage springen kann?
* Die Maus-Empfindlichkeit ist bei mir extrem niedrig und ich musste die Maus sehr viel bewegen um etwas sehen zu koennen.
* Spielerstart/Kamera-Perspektive koennte angepasst werden um den Weg aufzuzeigen.
* FieldOfView vielleicht erhoehen?
* Gut, dass du Musik drin hast, ich denke aber sie passt vielleicht nicht ganz so gut zu deinem Spiel oder dem Thema.

Danke fuer dein kleines Spiel, gib' nicht auf :)

Viele Gruesse

hi! i tried to play it for a bit, but unfortunately the mouse sensitivity was unbearably slow for me. i tried maxing my mouse sensitivity settings on my computer, but it wasn't enough. if you make a version with mouse sens settings let me know and i can give it a fair score, but from what i saw the game looked alright! sorry that i can't say much more at the moment.

well done on completing a Ludum Dare entry. I can see what you were trying to do with this one. Unfortunately it has a lot of problems. The player movement is very slippery, and the randomly generated levels means that the levels aren't very interesting. I did thing it was neat that there were two different types of levels though. Good luck on your next jam!

I tried your game, it is unfortunately not really playable (mouse sensitivity). Nice try you'll do better next time. :)

@elosociu I know this was stupid to set the mous sensitivity so low
In the next Jam i will make it better.
I also want to thank you, that you took the time to play my game :)

Hey maxi1234,

I really liked your game! I know it has a lot of bugs. However I had fun playing your game.

I hope you make more games with less bugs and more variety.

The mouse sensitivity was okay for me, i think you get used to it, if you play some time.

The graphic and the atmosphere was cool and the theme was on point!

PS: I think i am a speedrunner at your game, i even reached lvl 100!

All the best,

First of all, kudos for achieving this on your own. Unfortunately, it was really tough for me to go through it with the mouse sensitivity issue, even with putting my own settings at max...

I also had to deal with bizarre collisions, like getting stuck on the border of a platform and that's it, gotta reset game.

As first comment mentionned, this feels a bit aimless though, but the graphics looked nice, good lighting, nice details like the chains and stuff, and it had some promise on the mood department. The procedural factor is interesting too, but you fatally end up with some occurrences being far worse than others.

As for the music... Well that's a loop, not really a stellar one, and not really played on the best VST there is. Honestly, I'd rather just have had a background noise.

You probably ran out of time, that's a jam, shit happens. GG nonetheless for this entry!

I'm sorry I can't really play your game because of mouse sensitivity... I see you are using Unity, is it possible that you are using the new input system, but multiply the value by Time.deltaTime? That could explain the different outcomes between players. If it's the case you shouldn't, since it's already multiplied for you.

I won't rate you since I didn't really tried your game and that wouldn't seem fair to give bad notes only for a bug... Let me know if you fix it, I will gladly come and give it another try! :)

@rolly The reason for the slow Camera is, that my Mouse i very very fast so i just didn´t notised the slow movement.

Anyway if you want i´ve uploaded a version2. So maybe you can play is now

An interesting idea for a game, I liked the mood and the graphics were nice! Unfortunately because the levels were randomly generated sometimes the next platform would spawn directly under the previous one making it impossible to advance. I had fun while it lasted though.

@okaylobster Thank you for your Feedback and I have also a Question, in which level was this bug?
ps: every one has the same levels

Hey looks like this is your first Ludum Dare. Don't get discouraged by bugs. Your game plays pretty decently for a first time entry, and you finished within the time limit which should be celebration enough in it's own right. Congrats on entering and good luck with your future games!

Just falling to nearest level is killing you(( Holding space is only way to survive any drops! That's only issue a have while playing. 2nd type of level is more fun! I think you should've explored that mechanic and made its base of gameplay!
