Deep in the ocean by xicoizquierdo

I made a game inspired by the ocean. You have to go deeper and deeper in the sea without disturd the animals. You have the help from the oxygens. You can not go deeper too fast or go upper! Always down! Be careful with the oxygen bar. Have fun!!

Great job for a single dev, keep it up !
Great job
- scaling difficulty
- changing fish types (as mentioned above)
- if you say, you must not disturb fishes, then you should punish the player for doing so. It can either be a game over, or adding a "biome disturbance" bar that increases as the player hits creatures and when it reaches max level, it's game over. Those are examples of course, but I think that losing oxygen if you touch a fish is not punishing enough the player for bad behavior (especially against fishes ><)
- setting a special color scheme for objects that you have to pick up, here it's the oxygen. The oxygen is the same color as the turtles so it doesn't come to your mind immediatly that you can and have to pick it up.
Despite those minor fixes that you can work on (if you find it interesing of course), I think you've worked well on the art, and mood!
As a suggestion, have the screen get darker as you go "deeper". It really just felt like the sub was trying to stay in the same spot as fish invaded the space where the sub was.
Also adding a bit of health instead of letting the player hit as many fish as they want would be good.
At first I didn't understand that I was going down automatically and I tried to reach the bottom of the window and I died.
That was better the next time and I've had fun.
I really like the aesthetic of your animals. My favourite are the turtles (I love turtles), and the octopuses that are squashing up and down: a simple animation for a really good result.
The flipping animation of the submarine when you change direction is really cool too.
I am not sure there was an increasing difficulty (or maybe it should increase faster) with the spawning of the oxygen bottles.
As other people mentioned, it would have made sense to have the different species appear at different depth, giving the player a better feel of going deeper.
Congrats for this nice entry, and the really clean looking art.
Well done!
I died when i reached the bottom of the screen bit, I looked again in the tutorial but there I haven't seen anything about that.
But it is a very cool game anyway 👍
I'm not sure if this is a bug or intended behaviour, if I go quickly to the bottom, I lost. I think it could be nicer if you just move the camera quickly and make the player face the consequences of moving too fast (hitting enemies that they couldn't see earlier, for example).
