For those like me who are wondering the key to mine, it's the Left mouse button. :)

This is a nice little entry. It lacks some feedbacks (when you're mining for instance) and the player is still placeholder, but I liked the "clicker" aspect. I don't really feel the mining upgrade though.

Well done.

Very ambitious! It could use some more feedback like @bastienre4 said. One thing I noticed was how "sharp" the camera movements were. Smoothing that out a little would help a lot!

Works pretty well! As other people have said, it would have been nice to have some feedback or effects to show that you're mining a tile, but hey you made a whole game in 2 days so I can't complain :)

The mining is really slow. Am I missing something?

@cubex there is a mining upgrade when you press the “q” key

@metadept @pseudohausen @bastienre4 yeah I wanted to add some feedback, but by the time compo was over I was too busy making a build, because unity felt like breaking sorry about that

@bastienre4 the player is a placeholder because my art skills made it look worse lol

It's definitely lacking polish, but the rest is pretty fun. I noticed some small issues, such as the price of the first mining upgrade not matching the text on the button (button said 10 coins, but I think it took around 15), and I couldn't seem to move into squares that I had just mined, and had to back up before going.

@jamr thanks for the feedback, I think my UI code messed up while building, because my unity was not feeling like working. Sorry about that

Neat little game, I kind of got lost in just mining around for a while. Definitely agree on the need for some feedback about what or even if you're mining. And yeah, in my fairly limited Unity experience, it can be a bit finnicky. Especially the UI stuff :P

Hey good effort. I think you should have different states of the blocks so we can see the impact of mining as it progresses. In addition I feel the speed upgrade went a little too hard too quickly.

Solid start for compo.

@squidly thanks for the feedback. Since it was compo I got no time to play test, sorry

Holy smokes. I totally got RICH! =P

Are you going to try to make a full blown Terraria-like game by any chance?

@stephenwhoskins
Probably not, but I am working on a topdown terraria like game (kinda like Minecraft and terraria mashed up) but I don’t know if I want to finish it yet. Thanks for the support :)

Decent effort on this game to the point where you did get a pretty complete game out, even if there are some gameplay issues. Like the above comments, mining is not the most fun when using both the mouse and while having no block outline or progress. I'm also suspicious about the use of the speed upgrade as there's never really a reason to go sideways for more than a few blocks, and it makes climbing rather difficult, although I understand it was probably just an easy variable to change as an upgrade. I think another day of work with some other mechanic involved would have made this game really shine. Overall good first jam game!

@wiredoverload yeah I realized mining isn’t too fun

And you caught me in 4K with the speed upgrade lol

Thanks for the feed back! :)

Interesting game. It felt engaging. The theme had also been clearly visible in your game. Keep it up! The game could use some polish though.

Heads up, you might want to add a separate link to the same itch.io page under mac download, so people know there's a mac version of the game before clicking through

So I definitely agree with what other people said that having some feedback when mining would be good. A quick idea could've been to create some sounds with sfxr (or the [online version, jsfr](https://sfxr.me/)). One when you started mining and one when the block was mined would help people gauge how long it takes to mine the block.

I also felt like the upgrades themselves were a little unbalanced, the speed upgrade was SUPER powerful, but I really wanted the mining to be super fast. Being overpowered in a game like this is fun. Maybe one of the upgrades could have mined multiple blocks at once?

It also feels like something where there's a lot of opportunities to add polish, like particle effects, where and each of those would add a lot to the felt of the game

@jezzamon thank you for all the feedback. I wanted to polish, but I wasn’t able to add polish because of the time limit. I’m gonna add the max link right now. thanks!

Very neat game. Generating such a large-scale world is very impressive for a compo entry! As others have mentioned, outlines would improve the experience a lot, but I understand the time limit (and Unity troubles).

P.S. If you go back to make changes, you should round shop prices up in the display, so it doesn't look like the player can buy something if they have fractionally less! It's not an issue as it is though :)

It's a big task to replicate mechanics of terraria in 2 days. It's a nice progress for such limited time! Good job!

It really needs some indicator that you are digging. It took a while to figure that out.
I found you can dig two tiles at once if you click on one, then click and hold another.
Also the coins value disappears if you have over 100.
A decent start of a game though.
