Just tested it.
The physic is, sadly, really clanky. Even jumping is sometimes really hard to achieve. The level design is hard to understand too ; while the intention are good, there are dead end with bonuses : you can take these, but cannot go back to the rest of the level after (or very hardly). Some jumps are frustrating because you have to jump into a pit, not seeing the potential ennemies or obstacles.
I get that the level design is made to look like a labyrinth and that it encourage exploration, but it's sometime too hard to get back on the main path.

The character is original and the idea to be able to get a grip on any wall was nice, but the physic kinda ruins it.

On the other hand, the introduction is well made and it's a good surprise to see this in a jam game.
The ideas are good, the execution was a bit jamed ; it's a nice attempt.

@pedrocoden you can thank our graphist @firemax34

@scott-steffes, yeah, it was made on purpose, so that the game is a bit infuriating, haha ^^

Cool little game, I can see the effort put into this  I had trouble enjoying this, though, as the controls are a bit clanky. There was quite a lot of getting stuck in between tiles etc. Also, there are visual issues, like contrast between spikes and the background wall is not high enough, making it really hard to see where there are spikes. This made it sometimes frustrating as I couldn't always tell why I suddenly died

Looks promising, although I can't really do much, sadly. For some reason the game almost always reloads itself when I try to jump into the first pit. But maybe I'm just doing something wrong there, or I'm overseeing something ^^"

Cool concept though!

@toilari thank you for your feedback, we wanted to make the game as infuriating as possible, but it seems like it was not really well made. Anyways, we'll fix those issues so that the game will feel better and more fair !

@merpui Thanks for playing the game, however there is a fall damage system, which makes it that if you fall from too high, you die and it restarts the level automatically. Try to catch the wall while falling so that you can glide onto it and not die from fall damage !

I really enjoyed the music (initially at least), but the fact that it restarted on every death made it a little bit painful, if it had at least been persistent regardless of current gamestate I'd have kept enjoying it despite it looping :P

I like the diagonal dashing, but it was by complete chance i discovered it was there, would have been nice to have something telling you it was!

(also I think I got teleported back to the start after picking up a red sword(?) was this the end or something else?)

+1 for the spikes merging quite awkwardly contrast wise with the background :)

Also fall damage being somewhat unforgiving was quite confusing, falling from a certain height killed you but not another.. (I think this is why some said it was resetting, when it was actually death from falling)

I really liked the character movement however, jank aside :)

Good concept, however I found the keyboard controls to be very hard to use. I also got stuck on seemingly nothing and jumping was the only to free myself. I would love to try this again with more polish.

It has potential. I got stuck in a death loop, sometimes frustrating, but the bonus in that is that the 1st 10 seconds of the music track is stuck in my head. Took me a minute to figure out the controls. I like the dash and the wall stick. I do like the concept, and again it has potential.

@profan : The sword thing is a troll at the end level of the game. We just didn't have enough time to put a text to say something like "you should be searching your son instead of grabbing that sword".

@enrique-romero : Yeah, there are collision issues, due to how tilemaps work in Unity, we'll fix that in the future updates of the game !

@epicgamefan : The music will be changed so that it doesn't restart when the level restarts.

Thanks to you for giving us feedback ! :)

They are a lot of work on this, but the character is difficult to control and there is a lot of collisions bugs, its a shame because its ambitious with dash, wall jump, climb etc... I like the castle ambiant and the music is a good choice, actually that remember me **dragon's lair** for all these reason.I think that can be good when the bug will be fix.
*PS:Animated introduction is really fun.*

There was a problem with text, I don't know if it's just me or this is a general problem but all the button texts are just "button" and all the writings on the walls are "Loading".

Also the spike graphics are a little bit blending with the background so I accidently hit them without seeing them a lot. But I like the wall graphics and the animation of the character and such.

I really liked the feel of the jumping and dashing. The accelerations are well tuned and I like the animations. Unfortunately they worked a bit inconsistently as the character would often get stuck in the wall or floor after a jump, requiring a bit of control fiddling to become unstuck.

The levels throw a lot of new mechanics at the player and don't explain what many of them mean. I would have loved to see half the mechanics (this would have still been plenty) with twice the attention paid to each one. I died several times before realising that there even was a spike near the start (it has a similar colour to the background), and I wasn't sure when I could kill enemies or when they would kill me. More animations/effects to tell the player what the world is doing would go a long way.

There is a good charming core of a game here, so I hope you keep it up.

@ragnor it's probably a translation issue, as at the start of the game, it gets on which language is your computer and translate accordingly. We only did the french and english translation (since those are the only ones we speak), so maybe you have a different language and it didn't translate. We should've made a default language for this kinda translation issues.

@googlefrog you can kill the bats by dashing towards it and the other enemy, by jumping onto it.

Thank you all for the feedback !

A great hard game but unfortunately sometimes you get stucks on tiles and it ruin your jumps but the art is nice but can be a little tricky for colorblind people, the fact that you can diagonal dash is really cool too good job !

Theres is a little issue with the collision but otherwise I really enjoyed this game! I liked the platforming and dash mechanics and the animations was actually pretty good. As a color blind person, I don't love the invisible spikes LOL but after a bit it was fine. I want to try out this game with some more polished collisions for sure! Congrats

You've put in some effort here. The animation of the player is nice and smooth, but the game's let down somewhat by the controls and physics. A number of times I got stuck in a position for no observable reason, and no amount of button-mashing could get me out of it. You've the beginnings of a good little game here. Good work!
